In flight travel essentials!

I'm going to Thailand soon and the flight is about like 16 hours long, I was wondering if you guys think taking a laptop would be kind of inconvenient?

if it's light and thin, why should it be?

personally, i got myself a PSP (Playstation Portable) cause one can watch movies on it. 2-3 movies of one's own, a good one from the on-board selection, and i'm a happy camper.

You should check out what kind of plane you'll be on and then checkout the entertainment available on that type of plane with that airline. A lot of long flights have your own independent screens to watch as many movies as you want, tv shows, games, etc. With a laptop your only going to have 3 hours of battery life anyway.

On the other hand: Most of the planes equiped with personal screens also have personal power outlets so you can plug in your laptop. If you have games you want to bring along, work, your own movies, tv, etc. then it would be worth it.

I would definitely recommend taking your laptop for games, work, etc. too.
When I've flown really long flights, reading & sleeping gets sort of....old after awhile, so I would definitely bring some other things like a laptop, or if you'd rather not lug it, you can buy one of those little DVD players, they are much lighter and you can watch all of your own movies/tv shows/etc.

Even though you'll be on the plane for 16 hours, I still wouldn't recommend bringing a laptop. Since you won't have Internet access, your only choices would be typing emails (to send later), playing games, or cleaning up your desktop - all of which are not worth the hassle of carrying a laptop on a plane.

In lieu of a laptop, you should bring reading material (books, magazines, etc.), an iPod (or any similar device), or a comfortable pillow so you can catch up on sleep.

Here's my list:::

• Moisturizer
• Water – drink plenty of water to stay well hydrated, it’s one of the best things you can do for your skin. Try to avoid the liquor cart.
• Atomizer filled with water and an essential oil – try a few drops of Rose oil diluted in water. Rose is very moisturizing, and will help to actually attract moisture. Spray your face once an hour to keep skin hydrated. Try the Evian sprays also. The Evian Sprays can be purchased at Sephora or your local CVS.
• Snacks – bring some fresh fruits to snack on like grapes. Avoid salty snacks that may cause you to puff up.
• Tinted Moisturizer – for a coverage that is light weight.
• Tinted lip balm – just a hint of color without the heaviness of a lipstick. There is also no need to worry about smearing.
• Blotting Papers – for a quick touch up and to help with any unwanted oil slicks
• Cleansing cloths or baby wipes – great for a quick cleansing of the face prior to applying a full face of makeup before landing
• Travel Toothbrush and Toothpaste – clean, fresh breath is a beauty essential.
• Perfume minis – for a quick burst of fragrance to get rid of the smell of the man you sat next to for ten hours.
• Earplugs – drown out the crying of the baby in 18A. Sleep will always make you look your best.

^Ohhh ear plugs are very very important on a long flight!! Also don't forget some over the counter sleeping pills to get you through it.

I also recommend hand sanitizer and Mario Badescu's Temporary Lifting Mask

oh, and about the makeup products Iana mentioned:

YSL got 2 awesome products for that.

Tinted moisturizer: YSL Complexion Enhancer. just a hint of color, brightens the complexion w/o glitter. (there are glittery ones too, but i stay away from them)

Tinted lip balm: YSL Rouge Pur Shine. the SHINE one, not the normal Rouge Pur one. the shine is as moisturizing as the regular YSL lipbalm (in the orange tube), tastes the same (super yummy) but adds a slight tint of color. it's really sheer but still shiny enough. like i said before, it offers the shine of lipgloss in a lipstick tube (and it's got SPF 15!!!) available in glittery shades and non glittery shades (as i'm tanned right now, i prefer more beige tones.)

i ain't no diva. i just spend a lot of time on airplanes.

never forget comfortable shoes you can wear w/o socks. to me, bare feet are more aesthetically pleasing than feet with socks on. i only fly in loafers, drivers, slip on's and flip flops. (girls got ballerina flats. the world is unfair.) even short distance flights. to me, nothing's worse than being stuck on a plane with socks and tight shoes on (no matter how comfy the shoes, after a while, ALL shoes feel uncomfortable & hot.)

Oh yes I must remember that ...

once I went on the plane wearing super high heels (because it was a short ride and I was too lazy to change ) It was absolute torture ... but at least I looked good.

i also think feet might bloat a bit due to the pressure. which is yet another pro for really comfy and sockless shoes. there are no real pros for the opposite really

Also, I have these two moisturizers I want to bring in my carry-on luggage, I'm putting them in these two tiny cases I got from some random drug store, but it's going to be in a gold bag. (Chanel, kind of tacky) So does it have to be transferred into a clear plastic baggie? Do I not need the Chanel bag?

Sorry if this question is really stupid but I'm really clueless.

^I know that when I was flying, you don't have to put them into a clear plastic bag, but you have to take it out and show the security guards. Also the liquids couldn't be more than a certain amount of ml, I think about 100 ml. I had to through out my sunscreen because I didn't realize this rule. Although, I in not sure if it is the same as other airports.
