Woods and gardens, I love the fact you could live in a matured way of a tree house. And a piece from Veronique Branquinho (sp?) and Junya Watanabe - I know, early for spring just yet but I can't wait for some warm weather! I've been trap in my house all day due to the bellow freezing temperatures :(

oh links are not allowed
but thank you :D
editing your posts now

I've said this about three times on this forum now but:
He stole my inspiration!
Last week I decided: Vermeer/seventeenth century Dutch costume/Delft for the inspiration of my project
So you can imagine how I felt when Dior couture arrived on Monday with the same . .
I'm just thankful he did a crappy job which was more based on the crunchy scrollwork around the hemline than the subtleties of Vermeer

anyway ... Vermeer barely produced 30 paintings in his whole career .....

I propose you to read this :
Daniel Arasse, L'ambition de Vermeer - I don't know if this has been translated into english ....
maybe this book is the translation ....

and you need to read Svetlana Alpers (and Tzevtan Todorov ... but once again I don't know if the books I'm refering to have been translated ...)

these are MUST read for an introduction to the period (these are art history books, of course) you're talking about ... as I guess you need references for your project ....
;):flower:

and do not forget to check anything about Rembrandt too ... He is major !

looking at all the stars & realising just how insignificant we all really are in this universe and how all those stars will still be there thousands of years after we are all gone into oblivion...thats awe inspiring. sometimes we get so caught up with ourselves and our silly lives that we forget just how trivial & inconsequential we all really are....

that's lovely

My wardrobe inspiration comes from a variety of places. I would label my style as vintage-mod because I love pairing vintage pieces with more modern designer pieces of clothing.
My main icons of fashion that I follow are from the footsteps of Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn, and I merge that classic style with today's trends, whichever it may be.
I'm also inspired by the casual model streetstyle :p
Personally, I don't like dressing like in outfits that resemble that put-together catalog look, it looks too stark. I love adding a little of my own flair and personality to my outfits, without taking it overboard.

fashionista-ta : i remember someone telling me a while ago that that picture wasn't jackie, but i loved the styling of it and it's very jackie inspired, which is why i posted it. i should've made that clear before, sorry! :)

(#1510) ^ Talk about your green roof  That house looks abandoned, though

Totally inspired right now by Amelia Earhart, the excitement of early airplanes and the prospect of travel, Gustav Holst's "The Planets" - specifically "Jupiter: The Bringer of Jollity," Rosie the Riveter and women taking men's jobs on the WWII homefront, etc.

Twilight Fairy, I like those. If you find inspiration in rural Ukraine, I recommend the novel "Everything is Illuminated" by Jonathan Safran Foer. Safran's style of writing is challenging, but once you grasp it, the novel is full of surprising, jarring imagery. Read more about it here:

Btw, there's also a film adaptation, but it was filmed in the Czech Republic, not Ukraine.

I happen to be reading Everything is Illuminated just right now! Funny how you mentioned it to twilight fairy.
