pinkdolphin, thank you so much for posting those pics, I noticed the difference in the hardware, but the blue colour of the two bags is VERY similar.

Anyways, I'm not into dark blue/navy at all and I'm kind of happy about skipping out on the next round of TnD's colours! I was hoping that would happen because I bought 6 of their bags since joining the forum!!! Yikes

However, I only got the bags I really, really wanted so I don't feel bad about it all. I only buy bags I couldn't live without. I don't want to stuff my closet with bags which are rarely worn.

And the leather is definitely very very thick, handles are great, everything's perfect other than my little problem here . The leather is so much better than all my nbfs and auths!!! so I'm actually very very happy

How is Kirkcaldy spelt wrong?

Tony and Dom are Italian names. I have just come to assume they are Italian. Not that I've put a lot of thought into it. English is clearly not their first language, but that would explain things. I don't, however, think that they are Chinese.

They are 100% Chinese. You can tell from their English, and the particular grammatical mistakes they make that are definitely not a native speaker's typos. I live in Japan and have got to know Asian people's English foibles... and those two are not Brits/Aussies/whatever they make themselves out to be. Plus, they misspelled 'Kirkcaldy' on their Paypal business name. (Kirkcaldy would also indicate they're Scottish, which leads me to another point: as a Scot, there are very few men named Tony and Dominic here!! ) I mean, I don't care what they call themselves - they've always been really nice over email - but I found it interesting that they gave themselves this persona in order to be less threatening/more approachable to their Western female customers...

Thanks pinkdolphin for the pics of the marine and officier! Officier seemed so much darker on the bal site. Anyway, i'm down to order a shade of dark blue (like storm) to add to my growing bbag collection if someone is making a list for the guys.

Looking at everyone's posts, I decided to go with Jacky for my 1st Cha*el purchase. I just placed an order:
-Classic flap (caviar, sh)
-Jumbo flap (caviar, sh)
and a white wallet to go with.


Can't wait for their arrival

Tony = short for Antonio
Dom = short for Domenico

indigo was a pre-spring 05 color, so no giant hardware...
i don't think it would be hard for T&D to do any of the marines or officier...
there isn't much variation in the color...
07 marine is darker than 08 marine...here is a comparison pic from tPF (07 on top, 08 on bottom)

from what i've seen of them irl, tempete doesn't vary much in color either, but it would probably help if the boys could get an authentic piece to color match from...

i have also told T&D there has been alot of interest in making a dark blue and raisin, so we'll see...

i'm considering to buy LV or chanel wallet from jacky. is the quality really good,like can last for a few years ?

I gave my mum my used chanel zip-around wallet and she has used it almost everyday for the last 2 years and it really doesn't show any signs of wear yet. I have several wallets from Jacky and they are all still in fantastic shape. None of them have started to unravel at the seams or anything like that. Mind you, all the wallets I have purchased have been leather (Chanel, Hermes, Gucci) so I don't have any mono canvas-type wallets and therefore can't comment on their long-term quality.

Just wondering who has bought a speedy from either Jacky or Catty. Which would be the better to buy from for correct alignment? Or does it depend on their batch at the time?... I'm wanting the speedy 40.

I have Jacky's speedy. It is spot-on as far as alignment and handle length etc. I got it in March so it would be from a fairly current batch I guess. It is an exact match to the one posted on the vuitton website as far as logo and handle placement on the canvas goes. HTH
PS-I'm kinda diggin' the 40 lately too.

EDIT - Catty does have speedies (item# LV001) on the last page.

diorgirl - jacky's LV is so convincing that in texture and smell that when i left my wallet in a cab, whomever found it kept the cash AND the wallet and sent back my ID, CC's, etc. i'm pretty sure they resold it as auth. i also use jacky's 35 speedy for lugging around things when i travel sometimes and it looks great after three years of use. i would never hesitate to buy any LV mono or damier from him.

i also have MJ zip clutch that was from jacky (but i purchased from girl on bagswap a couple of years ago) that is still in perfect condition after daily use for about a year and a half.

writergrl - i'm also trying to find this out. there are a lot of bags with the bijoux chain coming out for FW09, so i think it might be part of that? jacky is making this bag in black too, if you're interested. i'd prefer the classic mini flap (quilted with chain/leather strap), but i haven't found a good one.

thanks thesiren. i saw the one on jacky's site too and the quilting looked good on the leather from the photos. im going to keep combing for the answer and will post if i can find more info. i am also on the hunt for a great qualtiy classic mini flap.
