Coco109: I think NBF handles are still inconsistent..My maldives city RH has quite a good handle, while my ame city rh 2nd batch is just bad, it's so 'skinny' and i can see the 'hole' on the looping- does this make sense?

Oh my goodness!!! I cannot believe they are ready to ship! i haven't even placed my order yet because I don't know which style/combo to get should it be part time gsh or rh or city?? I think for twiggy's I like brighter colors I don't think outremer will be bright enough or light enough but I think I am going to miss out cuz I cannot decide

crystal7: I dont' know when/if they are doing the new rose gold hardware being introduced by Bal this season. You should write to them to ask. If enough people show interest I am sure they will try to make it.

Crystal- If you want some suggestions you should take a picture of your bags and hopefully some of the members might have a product that they could recomend once they see them.
Apple care conditions but it also takes the shine away, and there's other products by LMB that restore shine, so if i were you i would post a picture as it would be easier to determine what would be better for them that way

I think outremer would be gorgeous with GSH. For me it depends on what i already have, and i try not to get anything to similiar.
I have an EB GSH work, so i will be getting an outremer RH work.

did the older bags, the ones with the suede interior have hardware that was more tarnished-y looking? I see the newer models (of Stam's anyways) that have the fabric interior have the shiny chain and hardware.

Shelley-don't know if this helps, but my rep stam from jacky was the updated version with the cloth interior and that was def the year the HW changed to shiny, because I took my rep cream stam to compare with the auth a few years ago and the HW was the same!!

Here is the info on the venezia courtesy tpf from 2007. I think venezia always had shiny HW despite a suede lining from what I found on tpf with the descriptions, and I couldn't find one with matte HW. Description is from bergdorfgoodman.com

if the Club handles are right we are now doing them correctly because we are using the same knife mould.

I do think that the rolled rounded part is a little big but the stitching looks right.

so the RH handles from now on will look like your anthra club? or that was pre improvement? they look the same to me as they always have. i wish they were more like the handles on your authentic outremer. that's how my authentic bal's handles are.

cloudyblue: I do believe that as they don't use the same workers to make their bags there is inconsistency. That is why some are good and some are bad. If they used the same workers the Quality would improve immeasurably.
I believe they are working towards having the same workers working in their studio.

On another note: Still kinda interested in a Marc Jacobs Quilted Venetia. I know, took me a few years to warm up to it. My question for those of you in the know (and this applies to Stams as well) did the older bags, the ones with the suede interior have hardware that was more tarnished-y looking? In trying to find pictures of older (3+ years ago) bags, it looks like the older hardware was a bit more matte looking. The hardware on the Venetia isn't quite as noticable, but I'd still like it to be as close to auth as possible. I've searched the MJ thread back to 2004 but I'm having trouble finding photos and tpf doesn't have a lot of Venetia pics. Maybe kimair can help? I know you have a Stam, but I don't know what season it's from. I was going to ask on the MJ thread but since I'm actually after a rep I fell like a bit of a troll-fraud asking on that thread.
Can anyone verify this for me?

my stam is one of the newer ones (sunburst version without the quilting), but i do know that the older stams (and the icey quilted venetias) had slightly darker matte brass hardware and suede linings...
i believe they are from f/w 2005...

here's a pic of a taupe one from ebay (if you do a search, it's up for bidding right now if you want to see detail shots)...
i know they also came in black and bordeaux (the latter is pretty rare)...

here are the pictures of my gsh amethyst city, first batch.

i stopped conditioning once i realized the color started to change. you'll see that in the first picture in which i folded the bottom over the front of the bag. so there's no conditioner on the bottom and most of the back of the bag. i often carry is backwards just because i think the front color looks so bizarre.

the 2nd, 3rd & 4th pictures are of the front and back with flash. i thought a comparison with the mirror would be a good way to see the color change. i do think the mirror was always a little better looking than the bag even before i put the conditioner on it.

the last 3 pictures are with no flash, but overhead flood lighting in my apartment.

what do you guys think?? (don't be shy!) it's like 3 different colors now, wah! can she be saved??!

beavercall, i think your bag is absolutely gorgeous! the leather looks absolutely superb and its the greatest pop of color!

hautest, your bag looks so smooshy i just just hug it! i don't think you need to condition it any more and i don't see anything wrong with it... though I am not a bal expert.

I am still trying to find a great (95% perfect) rep but it's getting harder because I guess since the Venetia isn't being made anymore the reps stock is drying up too. I'm always late on the trend. Long after Tony & Dom retire I'll be all like.... "Hey, so it took me a few years, but I'm starting to warm up to this Balenciaga thing, I think they're really gonna catch on! I'm looking for an Outremer GSH Part-time, why can't I find one of those anywhere?"
