kxm911: Hi!!! I was also out of the bag scene for awhile. I was carrying the same bag and didn't even care what it was or if it went with my outfit....BUT, I'm out of my funk now and just ordered an outremer! Sang with GGH is SO pretty...I'm not sure how red it is though......

j0anne: Welcome! I'm not sure about Catty's Hermes.... I've heard good things about Jacky's Birkins (not that they're passable among anyone who knows Hermes, but that they're of decent craftsmanship and good leather). Also, desiremall.com has gorgeous Birkin *style* bags that don't have a logo. The craftsmanship is outstanding. Every detail from the stitching to the weight of the bag and the curve of the handle is perfected! BUT, if you want a logo, it's not the place for you.

I wish I could be more help but I don't have a marked Birkin. I think that since the Birkin is such a famous and easy to recognize bag, that unless the bag is an extremely good rep....it's obviously fake and I'm a chicken and don't want to get called out! If you do a search in the old forums you'll be able to get more feedback and I believe there are some pics of Jacky's Birks in the pics only thread.

pinkp and baga: THANKS!!! I'm feeling pretty good about getting the GSH. There will always be more RH Works I can get...but I think a GSH City was the best choice for me for this color.

Sheesh! What do you have against outremer?! Jk jk! I'll keep an eye out for EB with GSH and let you know! But I have to say that the EB leather was definitely not NBF's best. It was dry and almost dull looking...and that batch of zippers had all sorts of issues (I have an EB with GSH). Not trying to hate on EB, it's quite a nice color....but I just want you to know. It's not up to NBF's current standards.

I know what you mean about carrying a Birkin rep and have toyed with the idea of buying the rep for a long time. It's a really recognisible piece of arm candy but after seeing my friend carry her rep with confidence. I think it's time that I can now do it too! I don't think I will splurge on the authentic anytime soon so I am pretty contented if I could get my hands on a superb rep...hehe...

I've been following the threads with much enthusiasm and wonder how I can ever get hold of Jacky's site. His site seem to be the most sought-after for Chanel, Miu Miu (if I do not analyze wrongly) and now Birkin

It looks different in different lighting. In the natural sunlight it looks a deep rich blue, in fluorescent lights it has a purple tone.

Uiggu: I don't know about the midday, but I have seen a sang GGH pt, so it's not only made in the city.

I think arissa's pictures of outremer are spot on. it's a purplish blue periwinke. I think it's one of the most beautiful colors T&D have done. i haven't stopped carrying my bag since i got it

Hi j0anne-if you are looking for a superb, truly passable birk rep, sorry, but jacky isn't it. JMHO. You will need to spend between $600-$1200 to get a really high quality branded rep with mostly all the correct details. Try OMAS for a labeled rep but be prepared to pay. I agree with BBS that if you want great quality desiremall has it from what I can see, but no brand label and you will pay over $300. If you are looking for a birkin rep that is leather that isn't too expensive, then ok go with jacky. There are too many obvious 'tells' on his birks.

Now his chanel is another story....B)
