For one thing, the pieces from Gap, H&M, etc, are of a visibly lower quality than authentic Isabel Marant.

In some cases, yes, though (having tried on both the Marant and Gap versions) I have to say that in this case the Gap was the winner (IMHO)...and that's including having found the IM dress on sale for not that much more than the Gap.

Going off-topic (as far as IM is concerned)...but to follow up on luckyme's comment...isn't it more important that you like what you bought (regardless of where it's from)? If you love the IM version wear it to death and who cares if people are wearing Gap "copies"...

has the mainline hit the north american shores yet?

anyone gander a guess what's on tap for spring 09?

^Hopefully the spring 09 line will be just as good as the ss08 show. although, i might be alone in saying this but i really wish the spring/summer shows would be more summery, the ss08 collection had a lot of heavy jackets for example but i think the pretty prints and beautiful dresses made up for it.

I can't wait for S09! I hope there will be some light floaty dresses, because I am really craving one.

i love the dress version of that top in the 3rd pic in black, does anyone know how much it costs?

I'm sure those boots will sell out quickly, they are cut for a cowboy styled boot.

I thought the bags were all jerome's now?

if anyone purchases the drop crotch pant please post pics or impression...i don't see how they won't look like droopy drawers ala, rich owens. have to admit they are attractive on the models but not sure how they will look on most women.

too many lovely things posted on this thread. I've been trying to avoid browsing her fall collection, mainly because I don't want to be tempted to spend money right now. i see some nice scarves and henleys that look great. i'm also really curious about the wool knit pants that look a bit like looser leggings. but i keep thinking that i should check out zara and other stores for cheaper version (i personally see no problem with this).

lucky - I agree, I'm not sure how flattering the dropped crotch pants would be ... I tend to think it might look especially disastrous from the back! but you never know, if I ever come across them, I'll try them on and let you know!

pictures from bird for your viewing pleasure. some of it is a little off the wall though.

cute skirts...

the plaid flannel is coming home to me. :crush:

Thanks luckyme! some cute pieces.. the navy dress with the embroidery is surprisingly wearable in person. Those skirts are really adorable too.

thanks for posting the pics lucky! you must post a picture of the top when you get it. i really love the shape of that black dress, although i think i might like it even more in that emerald green color.

I Love It all!:heart:I love your shirt.

Thanks Lucky! I'm was thinking of buying that Black satin dress but after seeing your pics, I guess i really have to go to the store, everything is gorgeous!

^of course I can't see the image-- did Bird send out an email?

also Steph, that is a lovely coat!

stealthmodesteph, you won't be in that coat. its a winner and the grey one really does have more character than the black.

juliet, I requested the email and can forward it to you and anyone else who wants it. there is more in there then what I posted.

I had a chance to run into dernier cri and saw a bunch of the new arrivals. there was a dark hunter green wool dress, kind of like the black one on the previous page, thats was so simple and such an easy cut, I think it would look great on just about anyone. it was really special, and hung on the rack right next to a cropped gary graham leather/wool military jacket that seemed made for each other. I actually get the same vibe from both designers and think they march to the same drummer.

^ lucky, for the hunter green dress, so you mean the shape is similar to the sort of satin black one with the full, three quarter sleeves?? *sigh* this thread is so dangerous

great jacket steph!
