I just made my 2nd IM purchase this season.

Funnily, I saw the dress and top featured on Gwyneth and both items left me bored, the fabric was stiff not like I imagined it. Maybe I should have tried them on.

Aby that is gorgeous. Love it. what is the fabric like? I think it was shown on the runway in a pale blue colour which would suit my colouring better than the one you have bought (I am too pale....). Is it a top or a short dress though? Can't tell from the background.

Thanks Helena!

It's a (short) dress.

The fabric is silk but "raw-like" and you guessed right, it's from the same theme as the blue top shown on the runway.

Edit: Or maybe, it's the same dress the model is wearing but which fits like a tunic on her...

Very pretty Aby!
How will you wear it? Something under it?
I think it would be a bit too exposing for me, seems like it is a really low clevage I do like the idea behind it though, I just wish it was more subtle. The way its shown on the runway its just vulgar..

Charps: I did not mean that as a dig towards you in any way.:flower:

aby, best of the lot! love your choice.
as my mom would say...wear it well.

i was thinking the same pucci mama....you could certainly wear it with a small contrasting coloured bra underneath black or navy - but it would have to be very delicate....so difficult for a non-flat bust. you could also wear it with a t-shirt underneath or even with a very simple silk camisole....

Aby - how do you plan on wearing it?

Thanks a lot for all the positive feedback on the dress.

Ooh, I'd never wear it in the nude and "alfresco" like the model! :lol:Don't want to be in the evening news.

I actually tried it on with a simple black camisole under and it looked so nice because it put the weaving details in focus.

I can imagine that looking excellent Aby. You've inspired me to try and find the blue one at Aime in London.

I'm saving up for weeks to buy the dress you just bought Aby, only in blue...How much is it for a dress from the main line?? The whole collection is really inspiring

I always like the idea and overall style of Isabel Marant, but I am always so turned off by the prices and can never find an article of clothing that seems worth it. I think it's just how everything's put together that gives it appeal. While individually everything is cute, nothing stands out. How is the quality though?

no worries pucci_mama, no offence taken, but thanks anyway :)

I agree with you, even just from the pics the older style "Akota" or "Gotka" (not sure which one) looks like it has a nicer toe on it, and i like the finish at the ankle better ... however, i am just desperate for cute boots with a mid-size heel, and seriously where i live, shoes are impossible to find so anything even close to good will do!!

i wonder if i could find the older styles anywhere ... ? i spoke to IM in paris and they said they had a pair of ankle boots in Khaki (?) suede ... which i am assuming is more like the older colour of the boots in the store window pic, and not the very tan colour suede we are seeing everywhere this season ... do you think this could be an older style ...? or where the Zand definitely released in a more khaki suede?? anyway, back to my search and sorry for the continual obsessing!

Aby, i love this, great purchase! i want the top version in the powder blue ... Its called the "lenny", but i think everywhere has sold out ...

Have you checked Liberty Helena? I believe I saw it there a while ago...

The way you are planning on wearing it its such a fresh take on the dress Aby I would love to see a picture. ;)

Do IM shoes go down to a size 35?

pucci mama - I am geographically as well as physically limited at the moment - I live in the north of scotland ...and I am 3 days overdue waiting for a baby...:woot:

actually IM clothes have been fantastic whilst in my sartorially challenged state. I have worn so many of them all the way through....

aby - very beautiful dress! i've been admiring that dress, the lace reminds of a lace im tank that i have from several seasons ago that i spent forever tracking down.

helena - congratulations! interesting that you mention wearing im while in your "challenged" state. i haven't felt like wearing im lately (same state as you), thinking that a slimmer silhouette is more flattering right now, but i may just put on one of my floaty im tops tomorrow :flower:

it's interesting you both say that, because I was thinking along the lines of you Helena regarding that top - that it is better suited to a smaller bust. Unfortunately being curvy, I look at a lot of her stuff and don't think it would really suit my frame all that well. Same with a lot of other "niche" brands like Boy by Band of Outsiders. I like their stuff but it's either too oversized and boxy shaped (thus making me look like a big ball) or too tiny and restrictive (thus making me look like a sausage). Hard to find that middle ground.

Aby: the dress is beautiful! May I ask how much was it?:flower:
I'm so disappointed because matchesfashion.com doesn't offer IM clothes anymore.:(

no one is allowed to carry her clothes online anymore. I'm not sure why, but impulse/totokaelo noted that the brand had requested that their retailers not sell the clothes online. However, you can view totokaelo's pieces (inc. size and price) and email them to purchase.
