it's interesting you both say that, because I was thinking along the lines of you Helena regarding that top - that it is better suited to a smaller bust. Unfortunately being curvy, I look at a lot of her stuff and don't think it would really suit my frame all that well. Same with a lot of other "niche" brands like Boy by Band of Outsiders. I like their stuff but it's either too overside and boxy shaped (thus making me look like a big ball) or too tiny and restrictive (thus making me look like a sausage). Hard to find that middle ground.

I completely understand what you're saying. Normally, I'm very petite and small chested, and I've always felt that the loose, IM look really suited me. But as my body is changing quite a bit b/c of the pregnancy, I've been hesistant to wear anything with too much volume. Although, there are IM items which are loose but have a good drape, so perhaps the volume isn't so overwhelming.

I wonder what the curvier IM fans out there think?

helena - congratulations! interesting that you mention wearing im while in your "challenged" state. i haven't felt like wearing im lately (same state as you), thinking that a slimmer silhouette is more flattering right now, but i may just put on one of my floaty im tops tomorrow :flower:

tourist - I tend to wear non-figure hugging clothes normally - so the IM things I already have work quite well - and becasue a great deal of the dresses I have tend to be short, that balances things because thankfully my legs are still skinny. So they look cute with flat shoes (heels were not possible for the last 6 weeks). But there does come a point when you cross a line between voluminous being a good thing and it being a curse...for me that was about the seven months point....up until then, volume was great because it hid everything...but after that I had to be carefull when wearing any volume to make sure I balanced it with something that pulled me in so that I don't just look like a weeble.

Meg - I know what you mean....I have never tried any of the Band of Outsiders stuff.....I think with IM its either 'you' or not....I was in a changing room in paris once with a really curvy girl and she looked absolutely great in what she was trying on...and she bought a whole heap of it....but it suited her style....even though she wasn't boy shaped or particularly tall.

yes, I agree. I think I'm just hesitant to try it on because when you have a chest, anything that has no defined shape, can just make you look bigger. Of course, I wear loose and airy tops like this from time to time (only with a skinny or straight leg jean to provide balance) it definitely puts me off trying. But maybe I shouldn't be so put off...

Meg - I think its trying on the right pieces....and the choice available outside France is quite limited....so its difficult to see. The slouchy smocky tops always work I think...and she uses really good fabrics. The girl in the changing room was trying on smock tops/short dresses with baggy trousers rolled up....with converse....and she did look great...really laid back and cool. A little bit 45rpm...which is such a seductive look I think (well not in the sexy sexy way).

yes, I really like the rolled baggy pants. I agree regarding the alluring bit. I find that sort of aesthetic so much more attractive and interesting than a lot of other things. I also meant to say regarding Liberty's that you could phone them and they would ship to you. Have you seen their expanding e-shop?

congrats helena (that's so AWESOME:bunny:), very exciting.

her smock tops and slouchy pants are my favorites and go through all seasons because i can layer under them so it makes sense that you can wear them with a bit of a tummy bulge as well. :flower: doesnt she do a child's line as well?

i just pre-ordered the shortie black stud boot. its killer.B)

the top aby purchased also comes in a short sleeve version in black. i went for that instead of the black lace one i posted above since the "breastplate" detail is so unique. the cotton jumper bunched annoyingly in the back and the black dress was stunning on, fit really well but its one of those dresses that if you look in your closet you already have about 4...if anyone is looking for a very girlie type dress the hankercheif hem one will fit the bill. its pretty and very feminine.

Hmm - saddo that I am - I called Liberty this morning and they don't have it. booo hoooo.

I wish she'd do a cool online store or something.

Thanks Luckyme....

no one is allowed to carry her clothes online anymore. I'm not sure why, but impulse/totokaelo noted that the brand had requested that their retailers not sell the clothes online. However, you can view totokaelo's pieces (inc. size and price) and email them to purchase.
:o Didn't know that! Thanks for the info.:flower:

Aby: the dress is beautiful! May I ask how much was it?:flower:
I'm so disappointed because matchesfashion.com doesn't offer IM clothes anymore.:(

I got it at 290 euros.

Did they not have the size or the dress, because if it's the dress they are lying to you, I bought that blue dress a couple of weeks ago, and I saw a couple of them there yesterday, I even commented to my husband that probably I was hasty in buying it because maybe they will still be there on sale.

But I still haven't decided how Am i going to wear it, I hate layering, but it's just too indecent to walk around like that. My mother suggested a panel to cover the breasts...

Hmmm they did a quick look and said there was nothing matching my description. I told them it was pale blue top/tunic with an embroidered panel on the front. That's annoying isn't it? I'm not sure that the staff in liberty are very good esp compared to say dover st Market.

Has anyone seen the black cotton voile dress (number 90450 on COC) in real life? I like it but am wondering what the fabric feels like.. One of the IM dresses I've seen this season is made in a material that looks and feels similar to a potato sack... I was horrified when I saw that one.

StellaMare, could you post a pic or a link to the COC ?

The site doesn't allow me to save the picture or link to it..
It's on page two of their IM pages. It has short black lace sleeves and there is also a top version in white.

This one? I think I may be heading over to COC later on this week. I'll check it out and let you know.
