Jil Sander S/S 07 Milan

do you guys seriously like the cut of his jackets/trench/summer coats?
isn't the neck like too high? and all together 'small and tight'?

i considered this myself, but I think that ultimately it's these cuts that add to the sharpness of the 'look', making everything seems quite refined.

some of the pantsuit jackets almost appear restricting, and a little awkward.
imo, its a very appealing silhouette, kind of fresh/modernised, and charming.. in comparison to a normal perfectly proportionate pantsuit.

that being said, there is a very fine line between something that is slightly tweaked to look awkwardly sharp (as I would describe it)...and something that looks just plain ill-fitting...

Its a very strict collection. I wanted to see more movement, but nope. I do like the sequined pieces, but other than that its blah... I only like Jil Sander mens collection (its A LOT cheaper too btw)

I love the colours and the minimalistic aesthetics of Jil Sander, but I do agree with the collection looking ill-fitting. It's a good collection, but not nearly a favourite.

This surprised me too. Apparently Raf wanted to set the lower price point when he came in. I'm not sure why it only applies to the men's collection, but I'm not going to complain. I don't know the specific costs of the women's stuff, but it sounded like it was close to double the comparable men's pieces. The shirts I found on vacation were the same or less than some I'd bought from older seasons on yoox and I believe the men's suits aren't much more than a thousand right off the rack. Perfect!

not to mention, they can be unbuttoned;)

i can't help but think he would be the perfect person to redesign airline hostesses uniforms. :innocent: ;)

The new collection is amazing....some of the skirts are made from neoprene- the material made from scuba gear...their totally waterproof!

saw a woman wearing a black blazer and trousers, and immediately recognized the cut. she looked really great! she was petite with a small frame and looked super smart in the suit. and the high lapels look perfect

Just wanted to get everyones opinions on wearing the mini-skirt look with a short sleeve loose shirt, I'm a little skeptical with just how short the skirt is and how high the heels are, I'd really love to know people's thought's on it? It's a look I'm dabbling with:flower:

i agree.. theyre wonderful, but ive heard complaints about them being a bit to high, especially for a jil sander woman

See how much it can trace from this one to the beginning of Raf's Dior stage. A matchy match to Dior Spring 2013. Don't remember anyone mentioning it before?

I loved this collection back then, and it's still great. Maybe too many pants and jackets in the same vein as well as uncomfortably high heels, but other than that it's just so fresh and clean, like an ice-cold drink on a hot day. It was the time some designers/brands were above all that ridiculous styling and circus that now even they can't avoid anymore. If this collection was shown today it would be over-accessorized to death or otherwise suffocated under layers of unrealistic volumes and prints.

The whole collection is great. Clean designs, straight to the point, and strong ! As usual with Jil Sander, even though Raf designed it, the coats and the jackets' proportions are absolutely breathtaking. And I do agree with the shoes, they are way too high for JS, but he did better for the FW07 collection.
