John Galliano - Designer

This is maybe my favorite gown he made at Margiela. It’s so grand but also transparent and honest in how it’s made. And! It reminds me of what my drawing instructor would tell me about how form can be the most important part of a work. How the lining is ripped from the pants and pulled out to cascade down the back, gesturing the form of Watteau pleats from a robe a la Francaise at first glance or out of the corner of your eye. Unf! I wonder what will Glenn Martens' couture proposals will look like?
