I still don't see why Chanel doesn't put this concept car into production...Karl would look so chic getting out of it in front of Rue Cambon... ^_^

It's playing on the fact that he's a German who sort of adopted Paris as his hometown.

He says the new model (of car) is very elegant, and he can see it in Milan, Barcelona and Paris - they will love it in Paris. Then Baptiste whispers to him that it's only available in Germany. At the end he says sulkily that it belongs in Paris not Germany.

I can't believe you are all out there stuffing yourself with turkey like turkeys!!!!

CHANEL
10.00 am & 12.00 pm
Pavillon Cambon Capucines - 46 rue Cambon - Paris 1er

it's less than a month for Chanel's Haute Couture show ladies and gents! we've got to organize ourselves, diet, drive hummers, go to the gym in tweed overalls, and book suites at Le Ritz!!! :buzz: :buzz: :buzz:

I know, I know... no grand palais :(
They'll insist that it's all about seeing things up close and all... but I am more keen to think all the budget went to the B&W garden and the live symphonic orchestra of the ready to wear.
You see, there's cash flow incidents not even a 30% raise in prices can fix!!!

What?! No... I know it has nothing at all to do with the venue, but I've hated all the shows there... is this going to be a tradition? Seriously the sets are really boring here and there's not enough room to do anything interesting, whereas it's hard not to do anything interesting at the Grand Palais...

Is this where the Paris-Byzance collection was shown? That was too small there weren't any good photographs. :(

^ No, that was on the second floor of the Chanel salon at 31...Maybe this will be interesting, there have been some cool small shows in the past...I am still waiting for Versailles, of course- it's inevitable! ^_^

^^ the paper set was interesting, but NOT last's years light and pastels thingy :yuck:
what else has he shown there?

i wonder where will he get the inspiration from this time. i can already hear him say something like...

zhe inspiration came from zhis book by Dolistroskevsky which, which i am sure you've read, and that is is all about lullabies of pre-WWII austrian kids who used to wear feather hats. You've read it, haven't you? people who have private jets and wear couture have, anyway... it's diviiiiiine, hmmmm? it's like revisiting brancusi's earlier work meets picasso's late blue period, but with zhe chanel touch. didn't it remind you of zhat? zhe attitude is not blasé, you know? it's zhe modern interpretation of what a chanel woman should be today, hmm? diviiiiine...

^haha don't think that all privet jet and couture-people are that smart...

Now this is funny!! The Chanel store in Milan had a launch party, and one room was decorated as Karl's library- complete with a heavenly Karl standing in the corner!! I wonder if it speaks- "You look chic, but you really should lose a few pounds!!" B)

^That wallpaper is absolutely perfect. I want some for myself immediately. However, the furniture? Karl would disapprove.

^^ so true! where are the grey couches to replicate the real library?!
i mean, le Corbusier? seriously?

give me Zaha Hadid any day, but not these B)

To all TFSers in France, I just wanted to let you know that Papa Karl's on TV right now ^_^, on FR 2

Can't wait ! Yeah it was nice indeed, two hours (though I couldn't watch it till the end ) of Papa Karl as witty as ever. Damn he just won't ever tell his age  repeatedly he was pretty evasive on his childhood so the interviewer told him "Well that period of your life seems really blurred", to which Karl replied "No it's not blurred, I'm just short-sighted"
