Kiefer Sutherland Breaks Jack McCollough’s Nose at Met Ball Afterparty

Thinking about this, I'm conflicted... I mean, I must say, if she's worried about her image and publicity, then it'd be wise to part ways from him, however, I can't help but think that nobody is perfect, and yes, being an alcoholic is a particularly difficult and prominent problem, however, if she dumps him over this single incident, that would seem a bit cold. I mean we all screw up and make mistakes, at times. :ninja:

well the Met Gala was in a way a work related event for her. So staying with Kiefer could jeopardize her career. Is he worth that?

Will Proenza Schouler allow her to borrow clothes? Would they even allow her to attend their shows now? Will this woman be allowed to freelance at Vogue? If she stays with Kiefer would she be allowed to attend the Gala next year?

If I was her these are questions I would ask myself.

^ One wonders how Anna's pique is viewed in the InStyle world.

InStyle is not so much about designer/high fashion as I recall as more accessible things? I'm not a current subscriber, so I haven't read it in awhile ...

I would also hope that people would be able to distinguish between the two individuals. I would not be surprised if Kiefer were disinvited next year ...

Okay, so Brooke was "jostled" by Jack, and she did stumble. though she didn't fall all the way to ground. Now, how come she didn't say so earlier? Because until now, all her friends and representatives were saying that she said nothing happened, at all.

So this whole rift between Brooke Shields and Kiefer Sutherland over the headbutting incident ... here's the real story.

Brooke's reps told us that Kiefer was full of it when he said alleged victim Jack McCollough knocked Brooke over. Her reps said "nothing happened to her."

But Brooke has told friends she was indeed "jostled" by McCollough just before the headbutting, though she says it was "no big deal." Brooke says after McCollough made contact with her she fell, but not all the way to the ground. She doesn't believe it was intentional.

Brooke blames the fall on her 6" high heels and the fact that the room was dark and crowded and it was really really late.

Brooke says it all happened so fast.... but fact is, she does back up Kiefer on the issue of contact.

ok is anyone else being confused by the jack, jack bauer thing. since im an avid 24 fan (which i hope will not be affected), i keep reading jack thinking jack bauer=kiefer lol.

Same here. Basically the only reason why I care about this story (because I usually stay far away from these types of dramas), is because I love "24", and I'm afraid of Kiefer getting sentenced to a punishment that would prevent or delay the next season of "24" being filmed. :(

Fashion designer Jack McCollough leaves a New York City office building on Friday (May 8) with his broken nose all all bandaged up.
Mr. McCollough suffered a broken nose in three places as a result of the assault,” Jack’s rep has told People. “He received medical treatment last night after consulting with physicians.”
McCollough, who is one half of the Proenza Schouler designing duo, was reportedly head-butted by 24 star Kiefer Sutherland at an afterparty following the MET Costume Institute Gala on May 4. Kiefer has been charged with misdemeanor assault in connection with the incident.

so you cannot tell if you broke your nose until a few days later?

It sounds like Brooke was probably pushed in some way and she thought it was accidental--which it probably was--but Keifer is an alcohloic who likes to pick fights. This has been well-documented on his end...

I also want to add that I have read many times that the Proenza boys are a bit wild and dramatic themselves. I'm not sure if it is more Jack or Lazaro...that being said, he did not deserve to have his nose broke.

According to NYmag, Jack is going to require surgery to fix his nose :o

Brooke just released a statement cosigning with Keifer's version of events...hmmmm....

Kiefer Sutherland's lawyer says actor wasn't instigator in fight

NEW YORK - An investigation by New York City officials into a charge Kiefer Sutherland head-butted a fashion designer at a nightclub will show the star of TV's "24" was not a wrongdoer or instigator, his lawyer said Monday.

Sutherland was charged Thursday with third-degree assault in the incident a week ago at a nightclub at the trendy Mercer Hotel in the SoHo neighbourhood of Manhattan.

The designer, Jack McCollough of the high-end Proenza Schouler fashion house, claims Sutherland broke his nose after an argument at about 2 a.m. Tuesday. Police are also planning to question actress Brooke Shields as a witness.

Representatives for the three celebrities worked to clear up rumours after initially refusing to comment to the Associated Press.

"We are troubled by the untruthful and self-serving information circulating regarding Kiefer Sutherland and events of last Monday evening," lawyer Michael Miller said in a statement. "Out of respect for this law enforcement process, Kiefer Sutherland will not be making any comment."

Representatives for McCollough said the designer's injuries were more serious than what was initially noted on the police report. McCollough's nose was broken in several places and he had to seek medical treatment after the altercation. The police report says he suffered a cut on his nose.

Shields' lawyer, Gerald Lefcourt, wouldn't comment on whether she had been interviewed by police in the case. He said that many statements had been falsely attributed to Shields regarding the incident and were likely made by people not at the scene.

"While at the party, she was bumped into by Jack McCollough and Kiefer Sutherland became concerned," Lefcourt said in a statement. "Kiefer has always been a gentleman in her company. Both Jack and Kiefer are friends of Ms. Shields and she regrets this unfortunate situation."

No decision has been made on whether the New York City charge will affect Sutherland's probation for a drunken-driving conviction in Los Angeles.

Sutherland, the son of Canadian actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, pleaded no contest in October 2007 to driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of 0.08 per cent. He served 30 days in jail, in addition to 18 days for violating probation in a 2004 drunken-driving arrest.

Sutherland, who plays dashing federal counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer on "24," won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for best actor, and has been nominated multiple times for his work on the wildly popular show. The seventh season airs on Mondays.

if the designer indeed hurt Brooke Shields and refused to apologize&pushed Kiefer, I have to say that Kiefer did a good job.

For anyone who wanted a conclusion to this, apparently it's just now breaking at multiple news sources that Jack has dropped the charges against Kiefer, which basically means Kiefer is in the clear now...

It looks like Kiefer Sutherland has dodged a major bullet after the famous headbutt -- it's highly unlikely he will be prosecuted for the love tap with designer Jack McCollough.

There is no longer a complaining witness in the case because McCollough has settled his beef with Jack Bauer.

Without a complaining witness -- especially since this is a misdemeanor -- you can bet your house that Kiefer will not be prosecuted.

Especially important because the development makes it unlikely Kiefer will have his probation violated in Los Angeles -- he has to be a good boy after his DUI conviction last year.

No word on whether Kiefer had to pay Jack for his medical bills ... or his enormous grief.

^This all makes the story even more puzzling.

well it does make it sound like jack is more than just an innocent victim....

I just saw on the news that the police are dropping the charges against Sutherland. They claim Jack was not cooperating.

i dont know what to believe, its still fuzzy right now.

ok is anyone else being confused by the jack, jack bauer thing. since im an avid 24 fan (which i hope will not be affected), i keep reading jack thinking jack bauer=kiefer lol.

the 'jack' in question is jack mccollough the designer who was being headbutted, not the character protrayed by keifer. lol
