Just finished listening to the whole Judas song. It's up on iTunes now.
I like some parts of the song, and then the other parts are just meh for me. I like the part where she goes "Juda-a-aah".
Might have to give it a listen a few more times so I can get a better feel of it.

It sounds better than Born This Way in my personal opinion. But it also sounds like she's trying to reference Bad Romance in the beginning with the whole "Judas Juda-a-ahh ga-ga".. as if she knows that's one of her best songs lol. Also, it sounds very 1999 popish when the chorus comes in. I'm sort of reminded of Barbie Girl for some reason. But the "ohh oh ohhh" sounds very nice. I'm gonna do what chicaandcool is doing and listening to the song for a couple of times to marinate lol

It definitely is a way better song than Born This Way.

Better than BTW, not saying much though, but really bland, imo. It's like she was trying to recreate Bad Romance with some 'deep' meaning, etc, but it came off looking boring, lame and above all, pretentious.

I really miss the early Gaga. When she first came out, putting out hot music with hot beats. She had some crazy outfits, but they never overshadowed her music, it all seemed so authentic. Now, it's quite sad actually. I think this whole fame, 'icon' talk, hype, praise, etc got to her head and she's actually taking herself way too seriously. The worst part is that she can no longer back it all up with good music, so it ends up looking so fake and pathetic.

I have no doubt that people will praise Judas, hype it up, play it radio, etc, but with time everyone will be like "yeah, well that was bad". BTW is already considered to be her weakest single and everyone was going crazy over it when it first came out. Gaga needs to go back to her roots.

Except that it is different from what she's making now. She started off singing "Just Dance", etc. Now she's trying with this whole social commentary in her songs which end up sounding like they were written by a simpleton or a 12 year old. And the beats have become boring because she tries too hard to bee 'inventive'.

I agree with MyNameIs. I personally think Gaga is trying too hard right now. The first two albums (fame and fame monster) were out of this world. I think with Born this way and Judas; she's trying trying to be that artist that tries to send strong messages in her music but ends up falling short. Plus she's in this 90's phase that sounds like it's already been done. Don't get me wrong. I waited 7 hours outside a stadium to stand while seeing her in concert. But her new music isn't sitting well with me. Although Judas is a better step than Born this way.

You're acting like her earlier stuff were any good. They weren't. All her music follow the same generic formula.

Gaga got popular because there was a void that needed to be filled. There weren't any top dance hit makers until she came around.

The former pop Queens, Britney and Christina, are older now and no longer have the same appeal as they once did. Bionic and Burlesque flopped big time, while Femme Fatale will probably struggle to reach gold.

Even Beyonce had to change her sound to stay relevant because Rhianna is ready snatch her blond weave.

Gaga only makes dance/club hits, not a game changer. In a few years, a new, younger pop diva will come and dethrone her.
