Louis Vuitton F/W 2015.16 Paris

the fur jacket on Freja is everything. The rest is generic. I don't like the make up box bag as well LOL

This might be his weakest collection so far, the clothes are lovely but it's so safe... Not what I expect from him or LV. But I'm sure that we'll still see everything in every single magazine as usual.

That was definitely his weakest collection so far (dare I say even from his career). The first big eskimo fur coats were really promising, but then it came some ugly leopard prints, some ugly metallic fabrics, some ugly shoulder proportions... even the shoes and bags were ugly. It all just felt so unremarkable and cheap looking. I would NEVER guess it was LV, let alone designed by Ghesquière. With his debut collection in particular, he managed to walk that perfect line of something simple, wearable but at the same extremely luxurious and desirable. This time he couldn't even see that line.
I agree, this was very generic, the safe sister of YSL. The dresses with small inserts at the breasts were ugly, even so the shoulder pieces and shoes. The beginning with the white fur was very promising and like the idea of the box bags. Overall very disappointing.

Bravo Nicolas! Great collection!
It's not the right moment for him now to go super edgy. He wants to do commercial and it's the best evolution.
A lot of great things! the silhouette is much more forgiving than it was at the SS collection.

The tight dresses and
It's not as focused as his previous collections but i love it.
I didn't like the white leather coat & the suit on Julia Nobis (hate the choice of fabrics). The bags weren't as successful as before.

And great cast! The girl with the pink hair and the one with the bald hair were so badass!

His work at LV seems to be so about the idea of a wardrobe. Now i know what i need to buy from the SS collection....can't wait for this one to be in stores!

I like it. It's a much more wearable collection that what he's shown in the past.

It's an OK collection but nothing to shout out and get excited about. His former assistant at Paco Rabanne has shown that he can live up to Ghesquiere's standards, taking into account that he probably works on a much tighter budget to develop his collection, it's quite disappointing to see that Ghesquiere's Vuitton RTW looks so predictably commercial.

I actually liked it however that leopard print is REVOLTING  so thankfully there were only a few pieces with it. The last few looks were much better IMO and Freja in the white coast just perfection!

I am quite disappointed to his new collection, it's so "nothing" under the name of Nicolas Ghesquière, i am expecting so much more from him, I like his new approach for Louis Vuitton, a more refined luxury design which related to the brand archive since the debut collection last fall, however I don't see an evolution, neither in silhouette nor textile design, it's just bland, not minimal. Luckily I see his effort on creating some appealing bags design which is a step forward from his reign of Balenciaga.

Such a smooth collection. I thought there would be more looks, but he doesn't seem to like to keep the wow piece at the end of the show after 2012. There's still an ongoing inner drive getting me to digest the whole collection, I guess that's a good thing.
I'm not fond of the drop of the waist line, it's not flattering. Let hips be hips, it's great to have figures. The shoulder pads and brocades remind me of Marc's Lacroix collection, is he archiving Marc's work?

huh? that's it? it's like a boring pre-collection!! i hate those box bags

some of the pieces are nice but really absolutely nothing wowed me. set was not great either.

You know, the problem with Nicolas' LV is that this is all so obviously supposed to be wearable and commercial...but in the stores, these clothes are some of the most uncomfortable looking and feeling I've ever seen. All the fabrics are so unbelievably stiff. And if it isn't stiff it's spongy and seems to be like cheap polyester. I was just in the store the other day and I was shocked. That opening look from Spring - that white look on Jean Campbell...you'd have thought it'd be a light and easy little knit dress....no. It would be like wearing a cardboard box. And those white dresses with the objects printed all over them? Sewn up in such a heavy canvas, you might as well wear a sandwich board!

I'm really not sure what Nicolas is doing here, at this point. I mean...the clothes are pretty, sure. But the construction and fabrication are so lacking, it ends up leaving so much to be desired. For as commercial as this is all supposed to be, I really, really can't imagine many people are buying these clothes.

Whether or not you liked Marc's tenure at LV, you have to give him credit - his clothes in stores were some of the most impeccably made and perfectly fabricated I'd ever seen.
