Marc Jacobs F/W 10.11 New York

I am liking it so far. The feed went out for me quite early on, so I am excited to see the looks.

It felt very demure and sedated, but overall I though it was nice and simple, nothing original and the two dresses at the end were just ugly. tbh I expected more though...

Yeah, this looks very promising. Can't see decent images of it.

All right, I like the collection very much, and I write it having just watched the show ^_^ Love the comfy and soft feeling, plus the quiet, modest presentation. Just pleasing.

The dress on Frida was lovely, and some of the nude dresses were gorgeous too. I really liked the whole mood of the show, so peaceful.

Beautiful! Marc truly shines with simple clothing! The close were simple, not boring. I loved the seamless a-line skirts and the nude dresses!

That was just incredible. And it's been a long, long time since I've said that about Marc Jacobs.

 It looks like he really tried to strip everything back, doesn't it? From using one simple song (though a few renditions) a plain brown paper set, the minimal but gorgeous center piece, no celebrities, few big models, the anonymous girls, the little bow at the end rather than a finale parade.

 It was totally vintage MJ, as Spike said. I saw a few coats that reminded me of Vuitton fall '06, but the aesthetic overall was more akin to his work just before that season.

 The whole "Over the Rainbow"/dust storm/great depression references work perfectly with the economy right now, and the sequins were used pretty tastefully.

 Colors! The putty/brown/beige mix was great and understated. And the minimalism just added to it.

The only thing i disliked is the finale dress on Jamie, seriously that just plain unworthy imo.

This looks pretty good! Marc is on his A game again!

Grrrr I missed the show . I did not know it was being streamed . :(

Oh get it. However, I must admit I'm a tad hesitant to give my interpretation of the collection... from the wood frame structure of a house, the choice of colors, texture, the messy/free flowing hair ala the woman in the famous photo shot by Dorothea Lange, the shoes, and so forth.

Ummm, overall, I liked it. Though I did find myself somewhat depressed by the choice of music.

Nonetheless, it was a good presentation.;) The whole presentation, in my opinion, was somewhat of an ode to the Stock Market crash of 1929 and the resulting Great Depression; and perhaps the length of skirts with a modern twist ala Depression of 1893 in the US. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into the whole show.

I did see some items, such as the fur trimmed coats (which would be nice for me if it were faux-fur), skirts, and of course the handbags.

Sorry to ruin the party but the collection felt very safe to me. So safe that I digest almost every look, which is not normally coming from him. Maybe I only like him when he does his crazy stuff.

But hurray for being on time!
