New Zealand can be really cold even in summer. When I was there a few years ago in January we had to buy down jackets because it was so freezing.

It's not too cold there now. My best friend is from New Zealand and she's currently there. She went to the beach on Saturday.

I'm from NZ, depending on where they were the fur coat might be entirely warranted. If you're not used to it, the wind chills you to the bone.
