Design houses like Balenciaga + Fendi must be fuming they have their own line of bags to carry now.

The twins played a big part in bringing the Balenciaga motorcycle bags into the mainstream + creating buzz over others like the Givenchy Nightingale, Celine Luggage + Alexander Wang Coco - even Ashley's vintage Fendi croc that was re-issued because of the buzz it created on her arm.

I was thinking about this too. When you wanted your bag to be the next "it" bag you gave it to MKA.

But I do like the fact that even with their own line they still manage to wear many different brands. Their wardrobe is endless!

Yeah, I agree. I don't really care for anything they wear lately, it's just not inspiring.
Plus, their bag line isn't as good as the "it bags" they used to lug around. There's the one that looks exactly like the Fendi that Ash used to use, the repulsive backpacks and those weird leather box bags. They're not that great.

although i like MKs latest look. i am not in love with their looks these days. as it´s been said, it´s not very inspirational anymore.

It's been like that since The Row flew off. And that's not by coincident.

If you notice, many designers don't wear "influential" designs themselves. Their creativity and self-expression is channeled through the many collections they make. For Ashley and Mary Kate, they have The Row, E+J, Stylemint, and more. Their want/need to experiment with fashion no longer reflect in their style but instead in their numerous designs.

Think about it, if you're designing/consulting for 10+ collections per year, you'd be creatively satisfied (or exhausted) and would dress consistently for comfort and efficiency. I would.

all of the experimentation they did in the past is now put into their lines, they probably want to shift the attention to their brand rather than what they personally wear on a daily basis/in paparazzi pics.

they're evolving which is a good thing.
