Nah, that casting was another gimmick to a lackluster, dull and tacky collection. It would be nice to see if they get another shows though, I'm not excited about this VS girls invasion.

I want to see fresh meat, but when I say this, it's not teenage lanky models like we are used to. I'd like to see more models like Constance, Lara, Alla, Iris, etc.

Let's face it, VS girls had their time and this might be another intent to make this season more interesting when in reality, it's not.

I agree. And other than KK, I didn't find Giles cast to be as exciting as I thought it would be. Idk.

Also, is it just me or does Alessandra not look good in these HF shows? I generally like her, but first at Prada and now here, she just doesn't look good.

Actually, no.

Not to sound condescending but I didn't feel like Alessandra nor any of the VS girls had a groundbreaking presence at Prada, apart from the initial shock of being there. They all seem to had this "get me out of here" face.

At Giles, it seems like they owned it a little bit. It was actually nice to see Stam, Karolina and Carmen (not that shes been away for a long time) but the whole collection seem so blah that it just didn't make any difference.

Lindsey Wixson is the oooooooooodddddddddddddd one out at Giles. Such a cohesive cast and then Lindsey...kinda strange IMO.

I personally liked the sprinkling of new girls like her, Barbara, and Sharon, though - they were definitely in good company

I did not mind Barbara and Sharon, they fit in very well. I just don't see Lindsey fitting in. But maybe I am a little biased when it comes to Lindsey

While she may have looked a tad severe at Prada, I think Alessandra looked great at both shows. What I find very interesting and downright impressive is that what she projected at Prada and Giles pretty much the polar opposite of what she projects when she is shilling VS. At VS she's sexy, sultry and at times carefree, whereas at Giles Deacon she is elegant and a little mysterious. I would never guess that she makes seven figures modeling lingerie and swimsuits, she isn't exactly filling out the dress with the bustier bodice, perhaps she should have brought along that VS bra that adds a cup size or two.

I posted earlier that no one should be surprised that VS models could fit in on a high fashion runway, but even I am a little surprised that Alessandra not just fit in, but that she also was able to convey classiness and embody the luxury element, not too many experienced high fashion models can do that. Again, the interesting thing is the contrast, in my mind a looping slide show is playing with sedate Alessandra in her Prada and Giles looks interspersed with VS Ale strutting and pointing in that eye searing orange and neon pink number that she wore when she opened the last VSFS.

I think there is the old school who are anti-commercial anything (designers/models), so to them VS girls will never be good enough (ie once they've crossed over to VS, they're not allowed back).

and i think there are the young people who don't actually remember/know that these VS models once walked the HF runways before coming over to VS.

Like Heidi Klum was never a HF model, but she did do runway work. But very few people know that, they just think she was in catalogs, leaped onto the cover of SI, and then made her way over to VS.

The only way I would be excited to see these old models at a show would be if they were at Dior and the clothes were out of this world . Since that's not going to happen, these VS models are not really making an impact .

Ana Beatriz Barros did too - she walked Dior from 2001-2004. So who knows!
