Karl's comments are in relation to the Karl Lagerfeld eyewear campaign (which seems to be from the same shoot for the S/S 2015 campaign). I think even the press has forgotten he has an eponymous label, so anything Karl shoots is interpreted as being for Chanel.

Now that he's already using her for Fendi and KL, I actually don't see a mainline Chanel campaign for Kendall (I'm prepared to hear otherwise eventually!). I'm probably giving him too much credit, but from his comments he seems to realize that she is not strong enough to carry Chanel campaign.

I think that most of his actual faves land mainline Chanel + Fendi, as well they will often open/close one of the shows. Although there's still time for that to happen.
