Maybe MJ is foreshadowing a new trend in model casting... instead of mostly established girls with a few slots for new faces, mostly new faces with a few slots for established girls. So the true test of a model will be how well she does after her first successful season when she's up against all the brand new girls and unknowns. Hmmm I doubt it but it's interesting.

Well, at some point many of these established models do go on into their own things. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a show with Coco, Freja, Lily, Natasha, Gemma, Behati, etc but let's be real. New models have to come up to establish themselves as well. It's bound to happen.

Having said that, I have to point out that the casting at Marc Jacobs was impressive. All the girls seemed like coming from a fairy tale. And it's one of the only shows that introduced totally new faces into the game. Even though most of the models are fairly new, they have been seen on previous seasons as well.

Well, a bit suprising, but it must be a coincidence, since the casting director is Asian-american herself.

the whole concept is a fail for me. He says he doesn't want celebs but contantly comes up with gimmicks that distract from the clothes.

I definetly appreciate the concept behind the MJ cast and it worked really well. They all looked young, fresh, slightly scared to death but most of all they looked like normal girls because of their lack of experience in being 'fierce' on the runway. It added something to the collection I think. That said, I definetly prefer a star-studded cast with several second season girls and only a handful of newbies. Remember when Nimue was the ONLY new girl in the Michael Kors line-up a year ago? Now THAT was impressive and exciting

Aww, none of my girls (Snejana, Alla, Viktoriya) whom I was hoping to see there were at Rodarte.

Found the cast also rather dissapointing, but some of my favorites (Marike, Valerija, Madisyn & Jamie) were there, so it was quite okay.
