Model Casting S/S 11

^^ I was just coming to post that, I looked up their last season show, which was in London and if my model recognition is working, I spotted MCB, Natalia, Lara (well I actually spotted her boobs), perhaps Natasha. MCB and Natasha are mostly noteworthy because, while I don't consider them supers or demi-supers, since the show was in London they may have been special requests. I will check into that because actually a lot of the in-demand established models walked in London last season - I also spotted Abbey and Anja, but in their cases I know that they both did London last season.

i have a question. Since Balenciaga and Zac Posen are back to back, do you think the caliber of models will be present at one show and lack at the other? Or do you think they will split the top models equally among newcomers?

Balenciaga is obviously the bigger show, but it is also very selective, so you'll probably see a fair share of top models at Zac Posen. But Balenciaga will have first dibs probably.

Well she hasn't walked for Balenciaga since FW07 (if anybody knows why, let me know, lol) so I doubt she'd be there, but I don't think all the girls there will have to shave their heads so even if Snejana is there, she'd probably not shave.

I don't think they have to go bald, if I remember right Faith or someone said the theme will be rocker chic, that's why Bambi suits the collection.

Sidecuts like Alice Dellal maybe, which would already be heavy, but not bald. I at least hope so for the models.

The Hakaan cast was amazing! The only thing that could have topped it was the 2nd coming of Polina Kouklina, ie a come back lol. But still! Isabeli, Ale, Christina, Shirley, KK, etc. like all my favorite girls. What a cast!!

I don't imagine that she'll be walking in any shows, but she is signed with IMG again. I think it's more for celebrity and event deals because she mentioned on her website, in her own announcement, that we wouldn't see her at any castings/go sees. Although, she could be in a more Direct division where she's requested.

Balenciaga had a pretty good cast with Carolyn, Miranda (pregnant ) and Gisele

You never know. I mentioned it on her thread: Hermès is known for pulling in really big names into the picture. I don't think I'd mind seeing Tyra Banks there.

I guess I'm the only one disappointed by Balenciaga's casting? They used to launch some great new girls every year, and the few newcomers that were there this season I didn't care for at all. I'm sick of seeing the VS girls & supermodels past walk the runway.

BUT the casting did seem to fit this season's aesthetic.

Balenciaga casting was the worst this season!
Nicholas just started casting veterans and VS models only because it's the model trend of the moment,I'm sure he would have never called Gisele or Miranda if Prada and many other designers weren't casting them last season...
It's just a pretentious and silly move to make people talking about the show and catching some more media attention...so hypocrite!
Can I also say Gisele and Freja Beha are incompatible on the same runway show,one is the epitome of sexiness while the other one is just a ugly skinny zombie

^I'm pretty sure Balenciaga used Miranda first before Prada. Also, Gisele is a long time Balenciaga favorite so it's really not "pretentious and silly" that they used her again. Same thing could be said to the other comeback models at the show (Delfine, Ann Catherine, Stella etc.)
