Model Casting S/S 11

I gave myself a challenge and wrote down what I predicted would be the entire Balmain cast before the show even started.

So far I'm 17 for 17...:rofl: But Britt just broke the trend!

Miranda was also found through i think it was a common casting agent/director from Portmans a clothing company in australia she modelled for, who thought nicholas would like her, so they introduced her to him. Very general info here, but im pretty sure thats how it go started.

Gisele has had a Balenciaga campaign, Nicolas loves her. She has always been a favorite of the house. Many of the other girls this season were also previously in Balenciaga campaigns and/or have walked for them before, I don't see where their addition on this season's runway was at all incongruous with the aesthetic of the house.

 
I think the netherland's government is involved in Balenciaga casting!!! :p:lol:
 
If I do recall, wasn't it Ricardo Tisci who cast a VS model before anyone else did ( Adriana Lima)....so Prada, Vuitton, Giles, Loewe or Balenciaga just followed. Although after Givenchy; Balenciaga was the second house to do it.

Thank you. This season's casting completely embodied the house's aesthetic IMO.
 
lol some tfs posters can't remember the pre-SS05 days:p for me seeing anne-catherine was the best thing about that cast.:heart:
balmain had a better cast this season than last.
 
Gisele was also part of many Versace campaigns but this doesn't mean Donatella had to cast her when every other designer started doing the "veterans/VS comeback thing" (well that's probably another story :lol: )
 
I actually thought Gisele fits that collection better than a Caroline Brasch N or Lindsey W.

But the fact that Nicolas casted Gisele has nothing to do with the fact that 'every other designer started doing the "veterans/VS comeback thing"'.
