Pale Or Tan...

I'm so, so pale. It's actually kind of gross, because when I close my eyes people flip out because they can see the veins . I'd rather be like that than have a fake orange tan though, so...ugh.

For a woman: it depends on her features and hair/eye coloring, but in general, pale. But I don't mean veiny-pale or sickly pale. I like Valentina's skin tone for example--pale and slightly translucent under certain lighting, but not sickly or 6-feet-under-like. For darker skin tones, I dig Virginie Ledoyen's natural olive tone. I like pink or blue undertones in women.

For a man: always always ALWAYS better to be a little dark than too pale. Too-pale men = !! Blech. Major Pet Peeve. :yuk: :yuk: :yuk:

I think that a bit of a tan really flatters most people. I use sunless tanner to get a little color. It helps with my bad complexion on my face. I don't like the overly tan look. And UV tanning is bad for you, it is a shame so many people go to the tanning beds and burn in the sun. It would be nice if pale was popular again.

i have the sickly pale kind of skin, and i'm not sure what my undertones are. Sometimes i can look glowing and pretty with it, sometimes not. i find that with my features i'd look much better tan especially since my skin isnt clear. however i do love pale skin, there's just something about it. but i also like the natural approach to skin coloring, like when my boyfriend went away for a week and came back a little sunkissed, he looked soo cute^_^ but on guys blonde hair with tan skin makes me think of Barbie's boyfriend Ken, so it's not so attractive to me.

It's not a matter of pale or tan. It's a matter of natural. :)

...In my oh-so-very-humble opinion.

I prefer tanned guys but i much prefer my skin to be pale

Though i dont think it really matters as long as you dont look bright orange like jordan

A natural, healthy tan is best. Not overtanned or orange, but not pale either.

I am a light tan myself and that is also what I prefer in general.

Some people (but very few in my opinion, for instance Nicole Kidman) can have the pale look without looking sick.
Often I think a nice controlled tan makes a person look healthy and beautiful.

Love olive skin. It's sOoo bloody sexy. But I don't have olive skin..

Just something in between will do. Thou shall love thy own skin color.*Giggle*

when people have that glowing tan i get so jealous but then when i see people with real orange, too dark tans it makes us pale ones look so much healthier and natural.

uhm in Serbia and CROATIA girls don't look like they "came from Africa".There is a completely difference in skin tone and color there.I am half Croatian and have olive skin that gets dark really fast. But we don't turn BLACK you idiot.

I am half croatian as well and get mistaken for being southern spanish all the time (which is not that strange since Croatia is near Italy and most people from that region look-a-like). I agree with your comment although it could have been said nicer but you truly got a point.

Plus it is really hard NOT to tan when you live by the sea and have olive complexion. My skin turns brown just from walking down the street on a sunny day.
