Pale Or Tan...

Tan like Adriana lima...when there is that sunkissed glow it looks more eyecatching to me. I would rather be tanned/olive.

I think that when people are pale it looks nice and smokey but there are some people that verge on the cheese white...kinda of blueish category and thats too much. Lily Cole for example I find hard to look at because her skin is so pale its verging on paper.

I love tans so much, but I am a pale girl. I have finally learned to embrace that (due to my love of Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, and all the other hot pale chicks) and think pale can also be beautiful. That being said, I am not looking forward to revealling my pale body at the beach....might have to spray tan for that.

Its a tricky question. I am very pale... dark haired altought. With long hair I just look like a goth...

I think pale skin to be extremely beautiful... from a esthetic point of view, its close to perfection...

But a tanned skin, in both genres, its way more sensual...

tanned skin is looking good in summer.but tan in the middle of the winter is a bit weird..

I think any skin color/tone looks good as long as it is achieved through natural and healthy means. (no tanning beds please!!)

it's impossible not to associate tanning with wrinkles and skin cancer.

I like a 'healthy glow' like I just got out of the sun. I think Asians are really obsessed with being super pale, using all those whitening products and using umbrellas while they shop or sth (imo..looks ridiculous!) but..i've gotten tan before (from camping or sth) and i looked HORRID! imo asians don't look good if they're too tanned unless they have excellent features...so all in all, it really depends on whether the person suits having tanned skin or pale skin.

It's probably best to use a self tanner just to be safe;)

I'm unfortunately pale. I got really tan one summer because I was going to the pool practically everyday and it looked really nice!

a tan is a definite must when you're in a bathing suit. i like paler faces however - being asian, that's not too surprising. Has anyone else noticed the slew of "whitening" lotions/cosmetics that have come onto the american cosmetics scene? Koreans/Japanese/Chinese have been using this stuff forever!

I like both pale and tan skin....depends on the person's hair and eye coloring. Me myself, I am very pale and I like it. I can't get really tan because my hair is dark and my eyes are very light. I only get a little coloring and end up getting freckles! I use a light self tanner sometimes, but I look silly when I use a darker one. :flower: I love the look of olive colored skin too!

^Haha, I am pale oliven. I think i was born tan oliven, but after years in this high-north country, I'm pale oliven instead, and now it's too late for me. :p

Well, i doesn't bother me. I prefer to be that pale as I am, it may sound weird (pale oliven! :ninja: ), but I actually doesn't look sick at all, and I like it. In the summer I get freckles, and I like that too.

I'm quite pale and with a bit of freckles... I love pale skin, I am obsessed with it, but sometimes, I catch myself being disgusted over it.

Light tan skin can be gorgeous, like on Gemma Ward, she's a light skin colour and a bit of a tan at the same time, it's beautiful!

I like both, depends on the person. But I think women who are more tan, look much more healthy and exotic and sexy :) If it gets too pale it reminds me of a corpse. And I like all types of colours on guys I guess :)

Hmmm, this is a difficult one as I feel better with a tan but it is so difficult to keep up - here in Scotland we don't get enough sun for a natural tan, so it has to be fake.

I don't mind being pale, but I won't wear a skirt or cropped trousers with pale legs!! And yet I don't mind having pale arms  Im not keen on using self tan on my face as it can make me break out, and sunbeds get so much bad press I feel really guilty for using them.

One thing I know I hate is orange people, when you can totally tell they have loads of fake tan on - it just looks wrong.....:ninja:

You're so right. I hate when people are overly tanned, it looks so un-attractive. But it looks pretty when guys are tanned.
I also think that having a pale skin is beautiful, wish my skin was like that :D

i´m a pale skinned one......i´m not really happy about it...i mean i don´t want to be tanned the whole year but even in summer i don´t get tanned....just a little bit and everyone is like: oh? and you have really been on holiday? you don´t look like..........it´s annoying to hear this everytime.......:(

It depends on the person...but I like pale best. I'm a redhead, so I wouldn't look good tan. My skin doesn't tan, it just freckles. I don't really like freckles (on me, anyway) so I make sure to prevent them.

I have pale skin and I never get a tan, even from sitting under the sun for so long. It's okay though. I don't use fake tan. I like the way I am. I'm pale and smooth.

Tans and pale skin are all good really.

lol gsquared and eunhe hehe im not that surprise abt the skin whitening stuff becuz i was born in hk and live in there 4 12 yrs (and goes to there every summer) i guess because they are frezy abt it because most of the asian baby skin is pale but as most of them grow into and dull, molden chocolate (heard this description from a 3rd party) and olivey skin and very few of them can actually stay pale (like me, which im being neutral abt it) or turn into a nice golden/bronze/toasty brown (almost not able to see them) >.<

im those person who only get sunburn, mole and freckle (in a really weird area which is not cute at all) under the sun.... aft i went to highschool and met more asian (which they are azn) and find out they are in love with tanning (not really happening to them...) and they tease me that im not chinese because my paleness O.O
