My cousin had it done a few years back.

He couldn't talk correctly for a week. It was heaven.

But no, he isnt the most careful with his tounge ring, for example, whenever he has to "report" (He goes to an ROTC college) he uses a (sterilized) hair bristle to disguise it

I just have one thing to add: get a plastic barbell once your piercing has healed enough so you can take it out. I had the stainless steel one for five years and ended up biting on it so much that it chipped all my front teeth which resulted in thousands of dollars worth of dental costs. Just something to keep in mind! Good luck!

also, you prob already know this but be careful b/c if they pierce it wrong, it could paralyze your whole tongue/mouth and you won't be able to speak.
Actually, that's not true, just an urban myth.

If you need lots of info, check out http://www.bmezine.com/. When I got my belly button pierced this is where I got a lot of my info from. Also, very important, make sure your piercer uses a sterile never-been-used needle and he should put the clamps in the cleaner to be sterilized in front of you. If they're any good they'll be really professional and follow all the steps. Good luck!

Oh yeah just remember, guys think certain things about girls with tongue rings lol :P.[/b][/quote]
hm. never knew that but i'm glad i do now :flower:

i feel kind of stupid cuz that was the only thing holding me back from getting my tongue pierced. well, it was just an excuse. i want it but am too afraid of needles. i don't even have my ears pierced. :ninja:

i didn't even read the article  maybe i should and get my facts straight

 I'm still going through with it and I have a fear of needles...

I have 5 ear piercings(4 ear lobes and 1 cartilage one) and my friend did most for me, by tackling me down..my first piercings were done when I was asleep.

Just don't look at the needles....I fainted when I looked at the needle once when they were taking blood at my check-up... ...

And to think I'm going through with my tongue piercing on Sat. is crazy!

Be careful I know several people who have done our it

-Hemoraging of your tounge
-If they do it in the incorrect place it can hit your teeth
-You can talk with a lisp if you are not careful.

Make sure that you go to a good/safe/clean place.

Thanks people...I have found a shop thats clean and reputable..my stepdad got a tattoo done there actually...

I'm piercing it in exactly 1 hour....I am so scared that I might start hyperventilating...I'm scared of needles and I don't have that well of a pain tolerance...

Sad thing though....for the next 6 weeks I cant talk with m bro or dad..they refuse to talk to me unless I have my piercing out of my mouth...

Ive been wanting to get my nose pierced (just a tiny diamond) for what seems like forever now. Im just to much of a scaredy-cat to go through with it....

Hahah I was too...I have a phobia of needles so I didn't look...

If you really want your nose done really bad, I think you should...

I was so scared and I was even wimpering in my chair, but now I'm glad I got it... the stress and feeling scared to death was worth it.

Think about it...if you still keep wanting it you should just do it...

I thought about my tongue everyday then I realized its something I dont wanna live without.

P.S. Welcome to TFS...I hope you stay for a long time and we become good friends!

My dentist said that the metal (or something) in the stud changes the acidity of your saliva causing you to get more cavities in your teeth.

Hhhmmm..good to know...glad I'm opting for a acrylic(plastic like) bar once my piercing is healed...plus..the metal scratches teeth....I like different colors too anyways...way cuter...

Belly Piercing

Im thinking of getting my navel periced. I was just wondering if you have any tips. The thing I want to know most is does it hurt? I hate getting shots and needles but i really wanna get this done........ any commets would be great

Hey,

My friend just got it done and she said it did not hurt it looks very painful she says but its not as painful as you think it is...

I just got my tongue done and was as worried as you about it but I found that it didnt hurt.It was the days after that was hell cuz it was swollen, I had a lisp and couldnt eat. I LOVE it now though...

I'm scared of needles as well so I recommend close your eyes and dont even try looking. I like holding onto a hand or something...I find it helps. Also the nice thing is a belly button piercing is fine once its done. Just make sure you take care of it, clean it, dont go into the pool/ocean for I think 3 weeks until it heals.Rule of thumb is to make sure the place is clean...a infected belly doesnt hurt but its still very annoying.

Anyways, remember to just relax and you'll be fine...I hope you enjoy your piercing. :flower:

I finally got mine done sum ppl where telling me it would hurt but it didnt it was quick n only hurt afterwards like when something bumped my stomach go for it

Hmmm, I got my belly button pierced my senior year of high school. I took it out like less than a year later because I was so over it. The hole still hasn't closed up. I hear that if you have ha dit long enough, the hole will not eventually close up on its own. You have to get the spot pierced again, so that it will heal. :flower:
