Ponchos

I will slap myself silly with my handbag when I spot that on the street..

That look looks like Eskimo wear....and thats where it should stay- The Arctic

Not paired with a mini skirt and the latest DB It bag for teenyboppers :yuk:

Ugly as they may be, you have to admit one thing:

Uggs were made to keep your feet warm. These ponchos will do that too.

But an Ugg bag? What's IT keeping warm?

I have a light brown undyed merino wool poncho with cream blanket stitch around the hem.

I love it but I don't wear it very often.

I made msyelf a black poncho and I love it. NOBODY here wears them so.. WHATEVER to trend overload :D

I really, really love ponchos.. and I wanted one for a couple years now, but I guess now that the trend is at its peak, I'd like something different. This season, I'd really like to buy a capelet or two. They are just adorable, and have such a great vintage flair.

My shawl. I really loooove this, it's such a pretty sherbet orange... cost me a quarter at the thrift because the old ladies thought it was an old bed throw

I have two made exactly like that, but I use them as window draperies, since I look awful in a shawl, and they are not my colors, anyway. One is bright purple, the other is navy. I cannot wear cool colors...they make me look sallow. They do look pretty crossed up over my bedroom windows, however.

I'm not into ponchos or shawls, myself. Not a good look for us wide-shouldered chicks. Also, they are damnably inconvenient. You have to constantly reposition them, and if you have to carry anything, drive, wear a purse, etcetera, they get all bunched up, or choke you up around the throat.

I'm maybe going to make myself a 1960s style tailored cape, but fitted through the shoulders, with little epaulettes, so that the wide-shoulder look is a style point, not an unfortunate side effect.

I dont wear ponchos and Im quite sick of seeing them on every teen I see. I used to adore them but now that they're so trendy, Im staying well clear of them.

I think ponchos can be nice, if they are worn right. They're just not my style though.

But they're cute. B)

Yes, this is why I never wear mine - they're so annoying when you're trying to carry a handbag.

I love shawls and did love ponchos but now there's sooooo many people wearing them that it just puts me off! :( I love when someones wearing a different won, and love cool vintage brooches that people use on shawls etc!

No one's wearing them where I live, so the market's all open for me! I'm not sure if I like them, though. I can't picture myself ever wearing one, anyway. :o

I can see ponchos everywhere; they're cute and comfortable  I hope this trend will continue till feb 2005 because it looks good on people. I see different models & colours that suit any shape. You could say that 'the poncho' helps everyone no matter their size or personality. I've never seen one person that doesn't look great in a poncho.

Shawls are less attractive..more like an evening choice as a clothing item.

I have a lovely cape/poncho from Wales that I plan to wear in the Fall. They can be a bit awkward to wear sometimes, particularly with certain types of handbags.

You know, you're so right. The super trendy shawls and ponchos are the worst. I've seen girls wearing some that look extremely cheap.

If you get one that's quality made and add your personal flavor to it, I am sure it will look nice.

I've been wearing shawls for a very long time, and last year I got made fun of like crazy.

*omg, is she wearing a blanket hahaha* grr

My younger sister almost kicked some major *** because people would NOT shut up about it.
