It's pretty amazing, really, to see how much influence this collection has had on fashion, still to this day.
I can't help but see how much Proenza Schouler, in particular, have used this collection as a template for pretty much all of their collections for the last 5 years or so.
But even beyond literal references, the entire mood still seems to be what is considered "cool" in fashion - that angry, moody, intellectual girl living in downtown NY. Alexander Wang has done everything he can to bank on that same attitude. Little details like the knit beanies worn with evening looks (which was also a trend this particular season at Marc Jacobs, too) is still a street-style go to, even the way that the models are holding their bags is now the "fashion" way to carry your accessory. Such a testament to Miuccia's power to create, implement and shape the way we all dress and then how quickly she moves on, leaving everyone in he dust - even 7 years later.
