Project Runway

oh...that one...she made me crazy...i was so afraid that the producer's would keep her on just for the entertainment factor of how bad her designs were...so glad she's gone...i just couldn't handle her neurosis...she also doesn't have the stomach for fashion...

what's the blonde one's name?...her dress was good...and she's just quiet...but she's good and only 22 yr old...she doesn't want to be miss fancy superstar...she just wants to design ready to wear...wearable clothing...i thnk she will have a career in fashion regardless of whether or not she wins this...plus she's a cute blonde...which everyone in nyc seems to love...

when starr was all confident about her horrible black and red thing for the BR challenge, i was like...PHHHHHTTT!!! was very glad she got kicked off :innocent:

softgrey, is the blonde the one with the long hair and tannish skin?

oops lol good point... alexandra is the one you're talking about. i have such a horrible memory......can't wait for the new ep!

i can't remember any names...only the dresses...LOL...

i just remember dresses i really liked and dresses or personalities i hated... i had to look that name up :ninja:
maybe we should get a poll up on winner predictions...
i hope austin doesn't get eliminated but maybe he will next time.. the commercials show him like...crying or on the verge of it while up onstage.

if someone wants to start a poll....then i will merge with this thread and we can go...
i guess it should be started by someone who actually knows the names of the designers...:innocent:

I watched a marathon of this show last night and LOVED it! Its better than America's Next Top Model, it seems like the designers actually know what they are doing. Plus thier prinzes each week are much better (career wise and other) than a day at the spa, dinner cruise, ect. I like Austin the most, I didn't understand why the judges disliked his Banana Republic dress so much. I would wear that! I also like the blonde girl and the girl who designed the army theme dress. Also Robert even though his dress last week was ugly as sin. And the British girl. Basicly I like them all (that are on the show now) except for the crazy mom lady with the skunk hair.

But does that mean anything? I mean, if it's like eBay, and people wait to sharpshoot.

REMINDER: Set your VCRs and Tivos for a new eppy tomorrow night!

Do you think they'll do any menswear?

Sorry about the double post, but it's on right now for some of you (8pm), followed by the new eppy at 9pm. Let's find out who made poor Austin cry!

But ALSO: the new Queer Eye for the Straight GIRL premieres following it at 10.

Jesus F. Christ! That was the most vicious "twist" I've ever seen on any reality tv show. There's no greater way to cause havoc than to turn teammates on each other.

Dope Vanessa made it an easy decision however. Why shoot yourself? WTF? Wonder if everyone will harbor bad feelings about this or move on.

The best part of the tonight's episode was Josiane getting eliminated!!! Oh sure she celebrated the last two times she got picked and showed no compassion for the other models that got the boot. Now that it's her turn, she turns on the water works. World's tiniest violin!

I liked removable skirt design the best but I guess that singer (who was she anyway?) couldn't pick that one as it it would not have been too flattering on her.

Just watched the last two episodes for the first time, and I am impressed. I think I'll continue to watch the show. ^_^

As far as the designers, I really admire Austin's style, as well as Jay's. Austin's team's dress was alright imo, but I really didn't think it was functional in terms of the look they were trying to achieve. It sort of seemed like it reflected too much on Austin's own personal taste... Jay's and Kevin's team's ideas were both on target, imo, and I would have chose Jay's over Kevin's, but neither were bad.

I was really suprised about Nora's breakdown. I think it was obvious that they were going to be judged on cooperation and teamwork to some extent, so I was shocked when she stormed out and later had her "moment." I understand the stress, but did she not realize that her breakdown would probably be held against her??!

And what the hell was Vanessa's strategy selling herself out like that? I've only seen two episodes and never found her work to be that appealing, and she obviously wasn't an asset to the group... but the blatant and self-deprecating "yeah i pretty much suck" remark about her sewing?! Way too market yourself, Vanessa... :yuk: She left the judges with no choice...

Once again I felt that Jay got shafted. He doesn't ever complain about the objectives (only jokingly) and is always upbeat and is out to do what he does best while having a good time at it.

From the auction piece (very Dolce and Gabbana/Moschino rocker chic) to his Art Deco piece and now the rock and roll piece I always thought he should have come out on top. This episode I thought his design was a shoe in, but maybe it was too dark for that "pop" star. Too bad she sucks.

I liked Austin's dress the best AGAIN. I can see him becoming a good designer who makes pretty little frilly things like I like.

I used to like Nora, but I find the moment that somebody says "I'm too good for this" when they have been given a great oppertunity, the moment that I stop liking that person. She should have been eliminated. I've never been that crazy about her designs. But the British lady was getting on my nerves as well. It was a win-win situation for me.

Austin definitely has talent, but the piece was definitely a little too Little Bo Peep for a pop star. Of the three, I guess the one she chose was the middle ground sort of. Austin's being too frilly, and Jay's being to slickly dark (oh how awesome though... the black leather bustier was badass).

I do hope that they have to do one menswear line. If the pieces are wearable I may just bid on the auctions hahaha.

I just watched it tonight for the first time...clearly its about making a tv show -- and not about discovering a great design talent.

but what should we expect? watching a show about real design talent is not going to be as entertaining to the average tv viewer, as is watching caricatures of "artsy design people".

The guy who lost ( very young warhol-looking guy) sobbed uncontrolably...such a drama queen!!

How disappointing. What a difference from the first three episodes to this one! Still, the little we saw of their creative process was engrossing - I love hearing anyone thinking out a design.

Go to Bravo's ProjectRunway page and click on Tim's Take. He's really fab.
