Project Runway

Thank God that horrible Nora girl got kicked off. I ussually like Austin's designs but that dress was UGLY as sin.

I hope the top three are
-Austin
-Aleksandra
-Kara

BTW, I just read Kara is 37. She looks 21. Crazy.

On paper the crux of tonight's challenge looks like a good idea. Knowing they'd be in a design contest, it's not far-fetched to guess they'd be asked to make a wedding dress. But what better way to throw a wrench then to have a client with her own ideas.

I don't think it played out too well however. Maybe the models should have picked the designers so their wants and styles better matched up. Who knows.

I like Nora but there was no design in her creation. Just based on tonight, the judges made the right decision. My own bias would have had Wendy leave but there's always next week for that.

 Fountain of youth!

I can't believe they cut Nora... she deserved it though I guess. The other alternative would have been Austin, and that would just not do for ratings.

I hope Jay and Kara get to the last epi.

BTW- If any of you are in NYC, there are several Project Runway dresses on display at the BR at Rockefeller Center... When I was there, they had the cornhusk dress up, as well as Kara's military dress and last week's winner, the Pink dress designed by Kevin.

I just starting watching it yesterday out of boredom and it was pretty interesting. I felt sorry for the ones that were stuck with the crazy models...

I loved Alexandra's dress last night...I can't believe she pulled that together in the time allowed. I read Tim's Take on the Project Runway website, and he thinks her designs look all the same. I do think it looks a bit like the Banana dress, but not the others. We'll see.

My next favorite was Jay's. I like Kara's too, but I felt like it was something I'd seen before.

kimair, you're right, it's really a gorgeous dress.....
such a pity i can't watch this show!

I am absolutely addicted to this show...I have my Tivo set for it every week. I went to BR last week and I saw Wendy's dress that won...it wasnt so bad...but as for last nights show, Kara Saun's dress was fabulous!

I liked Alexandera and Jay's dresses.

To bad Nora got kicked of, I think she was talented overall. Austin should have gotten kicked off, his last 2 dresses where awful.

From what I've seen of this show, I am enjoying it and I actually think its the more forward thinking reality show on television. From a television production perspective, its got higher quality shooting and editing..

I think some people wonder why youve got experienced designers competing alongside fashion novices, recent grads, self-taughts, and those who are fooling themselves about their style talent. I think -- yes it is an uneven playing field -- but thats what the real world design industry is anyway. New designers try to garner a consumer base...the established designers have to stay on their toes. Therefore the contest is realistic, and fair.

As for the last episode, I missed the first half hour -- I'll catch it on Sunday's Marathon...But having seen the dresses, I gotta say that Austin failed -- that ugly dress -- They should have kicked him out of there so hard his little neurotic butt would go flying. I am sorry but Austin is a costume designer, not fashion.

Nora had been showing a lot of talent, but she should have been kicked out on the last episode. She was given another chance and she produced that common looking dress...a la Davids Bridal...and again showed her immaturity as a designer...immaturity as a person was her problem last week.

Wendy is a grotesque creature. She knows how to sew frocks. She should stick to that, because I am not seeing an eye for design. Not to mention she has all that negativity, she's conniving, and that just shows people who have it do it, people who dont have it try to get ahead by pulling other people down.

Alexandras dress was special. that is her design style. She'll be really good if she can develop her concepts in more directions...

Kara is good, period. She's a proven talent, and she always makes her dresses work...the fit, and detail always work.

Robert is good but really inconsistent. Jay is wacko but talented and skilled. Kevin is strange. He makes me uncomfortable, like he cant be trusted. Plus his front teeth are weird ( sorry thats mean and superficial of me).

And I still think Vanessa should still be there...yes she shouldnt have outed her lack of sewing skills, Ijust think she was trying to be honest and she didnt want to sell anyone else out. A cruel lesson she learned, shut the mouth.

i hope so!! although i haven't yet heard anything specific.....let me know if you know more than i do, okay? i really like this show (even though i haven't seen it yet...)!

i think they keep austin because he is more of a character than a person it seems like.

Indeed Wyatt -- Austin is a character, and he designs clothes for characters -- not people.

I agree but at the same time I think he is talented, and he overall the most memorable out of the bunch (sorry Jay!) and I think its important to have a strong vision to be a successful designer-karl lagerfeld, tom ford?-I think he has something to add.

I can't believe Alexandra got eliminated and Rob is still there, with his freakin' HORRENDOUS swimwear. God that was ugly! What a disappointment...
