Oops -- new Chanel scandal in the works

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Actress Reese Witherspoon may not have been the only victim of Chanel dress deja vu at the Gold Globe Awards earlier this week.

The Los Angeles Times Friday quoted "unconfirmed reports" that Natalie Portman's "vintage" black lace Chanel dress may have been worn by Debra Messing at the 12th Annual Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards in 2001.

A couture scandal erupted Monday night when sharp-eyed fashionistas recognized Witherspoon's "vintage" Chanel dress as the some one worn by Kirsten Dunst to Globe post parties in 2003.

If it is determined the same fashion faux pas was committed twice Monday, the Times predicts "heads will roll -- Marie Antoinette style -- soon at Chanel's corporate headquarters."

Yikes. Why is Chanel being so tacky and rude? They've really 'effed up.

oh boy. how old do clothes have to be before they're considered vintage?

Worse yet, Kirsten Dunst also wore the Messing/Portman black strapless dress.

OH NO!!!!! They also did the same for Natalie....

Such innocent victims..... I can't believe this.... !
*drama*

They could all go onto a reality TV show to customize their dresses. Pimp my dress anyone? :ninja:

Kirsten wore it in the Spider-Man 2 movie. Not to a event.

I still think it was inappropriate to not tell Natalie it had been worn by others.

Freaking Inconsiderate Kirsten Dunst!! Hogging all the chanel for herself!!... j/k :p

Seriously though.. the press needs to move on... and I personally don't think the Natalie portman dress is that noticeable as the silvertopped chanel dress Reese wore.. it was more signature

I think this was really bad of Chanel. For the celebrities it's a big deal, and it shouldn't be such a problem lending them dresses that hasn't been worn my other celebrities at other events. I wouldn't feel SO bad about it if I was Reese though, afterall the press is focusing on the fact that it's Chanel's fault, not hers.
I prefered Natalie's dress:heart:

Actually, vintage can be anything from three seasons to 50 yrs old. In contemporary fashion designers generally have archives and if you can't find those things in retail boutiques then generally they're considered as vintage.

SO embarassing! I feel so sorry for Natalie and Reese. LOL at Kirsten Dunst though - Real trendsetter haha, deserves some big karma there :)

And word to everyone else. I hope 0 celebs wear chanel this year to the oscars. I'd have been furious! I mean thats just plain unprofessional. This is not the prom, its the GG.

Reese and Ryan's attacker dead

Witherspoon Photographer Found Dead

A paparazzo who was charged with battery and child endangerment after attempting to get a photo of Reese Witherspoon and her children at a Disney theme park has been found dead. Friends of photographer Todd Wallace discovered his body in his Brentwood, California apartment, but his identity couldn't be confirmed because of the state of the body. Witherspoon was celebrating her daughter Ava's sixth birthday at Disney's California Adventure, along with a group of children, when Wallace attempted to take pictures of them last September. When the group declined to be photographed, Wallace became enraged, shoving one child and hitting another with his camera in an attempt to get shots of the star. Two theme park employees attempted to restrain the irate photographer, and he reportedly struck them, while cursing at Witherspoon and causing some of the children to burst into tears. Wallace was subsequently charged with six misdemeanor charges and pleaded innocent in October. After Wallace failed to show up at a bail hearing in December a judge issued a warrant for his arrest. The photographer was also scheduled to be arraigned December 27 on an unrelated charge of petty theft but it is unclear from court records whether he attended.
