I literally gasped when I read the thread title.

Never saw it coming! They seemed like they had one of those tight marriages that was 'above' all the drama of Hollywood.

Even though they seem to be the kind of people who are too mature for publicity stunts....I can't help but wonder if attention given to other recent divorcees influenced this move. It's just too ironic that this year, the Year of the Divorces, is the year they decide to split.

Damn shame.

I'd heard rumors about them (well, Ryan) that weren't-so-nice, and there was a lot in gossip about them being together primarily for their careers and the cameras, but I never believed it

Now I know how the TomKat fans must feel when we say their relationship is 75% attention wh*ring, 20% spooky cult advancement, and 5% outright lies. Sorry guys.

It's going to be so so weird eventually seeing them with other people. But I do wish them both well and hope they are happier in the long run. And feel badly for the kids.
