Unfortunately I have had a feeling that this has been coming for a long time. There were just so many rumors about the state of the marriage and Ryan's alleged cheating, no smoke without fire seems to have been proved to be true in this case.

But it is a real shame, marriage and Hollywood just don't seem to be compatible.

I think they had amazing chemistry. I remember in particular how Ryan was the one who jumped up and went crazy when Reese won her Golden Globe....he patted her on the back so hard she almost lost her breath. It was adorable.

I think its horrible that they split. I mean they seemed so normal. Yeah they were honest that their marriage wasn't perfect so the media gave the crap for it, but it was so good to seem them stay together and work around that stuff unlike the rest of hollywood who file for divorce after the first argument!

I feel extremely pathetic for being as upset about this as I am. They were the all-American couple to me. I guess I created this perfect image of them in my mind because they seemed to have it all-- true love, beautiful kids, booming careers. Everything I want! It stinks that my little "fantasy" is not reality and hope they will be both be happy. I wish them both strength during this time because we all KNOW the paparazzi won't leave them alone now.

But I think, in the end, there are no villains for Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon. It was just too much too soon.

Yet another beautiful couple that we thought would last! They can only seem to stay together when they don't make it legal.
