I'm seeing a lot of "spacish" designs...it kind of goes hand-in-hand with mod style...lots of metallic silver, black and white

from the balenciaga thread, fall 2005

Hmmm interesting.

But the Balenciaga designs are a bit freaky.

urgh, i'm absolutely not buying into this! the imitation of christ outfits are hot though, i wouldn't say they were spacey though. they fit in more with the whole thign that's been around for over a year now of strange folkloric clothes, definitely a look i'm interested in. urgh, i still can't get over how hideous those balenciaga looks are! i wouldn't be surprised if it catches on though, synthetic hasn't been in for a while now.

that second balenciaga one reminds me of your avatar poesy...bender.

must say though I don't like this at all. I could see it taking off though...it's such a reaction against the prettiness that has been so popular, eg victoriana, boho and ladylike stuff...

that's probably why I don't like it. :p

I like this trend a lot... Very cool on the runway....

I'll try to find some pics....

I'm not sure about this.. it could be a followup trend to all the metallics that we've been seeing lately but on the other hand people might be fed up with metallics so this trend could be rejected

Noooooo...fashion had one of these "moments" in the late 90's,with the millenium change coming up,and I cannot imagine that anyone has good memories from that time:lol: .(Fortunately I didn't go there..I'd learnt all my trend lessons in the 80's LOL! )

I'm not enamoured of the images here either!

I did a paper on mod fashion last year for my AP European History class and I wrote about this space-age style! Andre Courreges is largely responsible for the invention of this style. In Decades of Beauty, Kate Mulvey writes that “His creations were meant to be sexless uniforms for living in space… Here are some pictures of Courreges' clothing:
