the jones newyork photoshoot was a disaster. just happened to get one shot that i liked for its fuzzyness. will have to redo it

here are some photos of my own creations that i took for my newlook website which is still under construction. Since they arent yet 'out' i ll only have them on this site briefly before i pull them off. my style is the clothes standing out from the photo which is why i favour plenty of bright colours and dark or neutral backgrounds

will post the jones ny photo tommorow cant seem to load on photobucket

meanwhile a question for the proffessional photographers coz am amateur why do most of the photos i take using a digital camera get these tiny particles in them even when i use a high resolution and even when the lens isnt zoomed? this especially happens to photos where i use artificial light you may notice some of those particles in the photos i posted before

maybe its due to dust on the sensor??

^ they sort of look cross-processed, which is when you shoot 35mm slide film and get it processed as print film. the colors come out saturated and contrasty, and depending on what kind of slide film you use, the end result will be either cool (blues and purples) or warm (oranges and reds). i know nothing about digital as i shoot 100% film, and really only use photoshop to get spots out and resize, so i have no idea how to do it...but if you want that sort of look, i suggest shooting cross-processed 35mm slide film.

lomo is going to stop producing the LCA, so get one soon!

urban, i love your images! i love the colors, and i do love how well the clothing pops out from the neutral background. i love the strappy shoes that some of the models are wearing! good job!

you can achieve this colors by changing the curves.
best way is to add a new adjustment layer (the one which says curves) and change red, green and blue and make it a bit lighter. its easy to do but hard to explain, just try.

well thanks francesca! you wont believe it but most of those shoes belonged to my mum in the late 80's and early 90's but tell her to look at them now and she wont even dare! yet back then she loved em and couldnt look at the then trendy shoes i was tryin to force her into!:P

Whateyeesee, you can also do it it by duplicating the layers, make the top layer invisible, so that you can only see the layer underneath, and change the brightness/colour balance on the layer underneath. Put the top layer back into view, and use the eraser at a low exposure and erase some of the tope layer so that the bottom layer shows through in certain areas. I hope I explained that right...you learn a bit when you live with a retoucher.

Beautiful photos everyone :-) Thank you for sharing, do all of you have your own photography websites?

thanks softie unfortunately i had to pull them down coz they arent yet in circulatuion still workin on them!
