The 4-5 piece French wardrobe #6

Oh I really want those damson Porselli's so bad! I just can't find them in the store in my country. But I am determined to buy them ever, they are just too pretty. Eizhowa I'm jealous that you already own them!!

And I guess I'm an official francophile now. I wear ballerina's, blue jeans till the ankles, polkadots, trenchs.

I would go with the floral, it has a great print and I believe you already have some great basics. A statement piece like this can freshen a lot of thing you might already own.
But I'm a sucker for anything with a nature-based print so I might not be that neutral. :innocent:

Well I am really biased. Maybe I will buy neither. And really I do not think I am willing to pay the price that the floral one costs (1300 DKK for a sweatshirt made of mainly polyester), so it will only happen if it goes on sale I think.

Really I need a pair of black jeans more, I guess. Anyhow I decided to try and not do any shopping this month to save some extra money for when going to Berlin in the end of July.

^ I think you can find a really nice floral print in something other than polyester :flower:

^I was in Copenhagen today and stopped by to try both of the sweatshirt. The cut of the floral was boxy and just horrible on me, and the grey one was sold out, even though the stores website stated otherwise  So I took it as a sign - no sweatshirt for me.

Insted I managed to fall in love with a pair of boots.

If you could choose your perfect wardrobe what would you choose? I guess that these are my favourite things. I would also add a camel turtleneck. I love the parisian style (stripes, turtle neck, bf jeans, blazers). But the problem is that it sometimes can look too casual. I hope that the cami's (silk) add a little bit of a sexy factor. And silk blouses too.

Too casual for what? As a student I can dress casual 99.9% of the time. What are your non-casual activities?

^Aha, guess my town is just very casual:P The only thing you really need to dress up for here is going clubbing, and thats not really my scene. Dating is also very casual. Both my best friend and I have been on dates that consisted of going for a walk around a lake:lol:

I really like your "perfect wardrobe". Only thing I would add is a wool coat and a pair of sandals.

@Ta-ta: yes, that is true! What about Eva? Long time since I have seen her pin something as well.

@Barbaraa:
so good to "see" you :D Hope everything has quited down in regards of those unexpected turns. I really love that shirt you bought.
Thank you! I think things might have *finally* quieted down a little; I broke up with my long term, long distance boyfriend after things not being so well for quite a while, got myself into another relationship (with someone who I was very much into for months and with whom I spend a lot of my day - not something I was used to!), I went on a short holiday and my contract was only renewed a couple of days before it was ending, and then they shifted me to another department not even a week ago! Hectic to say the least

I was preparing to send back my two j crew trousers when I realized they had not sent me a 2 and a 4, but a 00 and a 4. No wonder the "2" was a bit snug:rolleyes:. Oh well.
Oh dear... Hopefully you can sort that out in the best way for you, as it was their mistake!

Just to inform you that I have sorted it out with the dress in the best way possible, they were so kind to offer me to refund the percentage it was discounted for along with the refund for the dress itself when they'll get it back, so I just placed a new order.
I was planning to wear it this weekend though but what can I do, at least I will get my dreamed dress and for the price I paid for before and I know it will fit like a glove.
That was very lucky - ASOS doesn't really have the best customer services in my experience and they are often unwilling to do things like that...

--

I did really like how that shirt I ordered worked, so I ordered some more in the same style - it was light enough to wear now that it's hot and easy to dress up and down (I wore it with a pencil skirt at the office and got compliments for it!)...

What I need now is a light coat to wear in the morning and in the evening, when it's colder (I get out of the house at 7:10)...

I've been on dates that consisted in eating ice cream or taking my beach towel to lay down in a park  I guess it depends on one's lifestyle too...

Haha me too. But sometimes I go to an evening party/dinner. And dresses will be too overdressed. Most of the time I wear my coated black jeans, black heels, shirt and a jacket/blazer. Or a blouse with jewellery.

Then your lifestyle does have occasions that call for dressier clothing  maybe a pair of nice trousers instead of the jeans, or a skirt (I don't know how much of a skirt person you are) would help?

^ An embellished heel can be great for dressing things up ... I love my silver beaded Dries sandals, or my leopard pumps, for that purpose.

@Trenchcoat: how about adding a pencil skirt, a pair of pumps and/or a clutch for evening wear. I rarely feel like I need anything flashier than that. Like the other girls are saying, my life just does not seem to have that many dressy occasions either.

@Barbaraa: seems like you have had a lot going on - but sounds like you are happy! Hope you are doing great. How about a trenchcoat for a light coat?

Hi all!

Trenchcoat: I loved your burgundy photo, inspiring indeed! Burgundy goes with your spring/summer palette too...esp. for European summers.

I have many occasions to dress up in my life, and that's where all the black comes in handy, it's so easy to be instantly pulled together and dressed up with pearls or other nice jewelry. (A pearl necklace is a good addition if you don't have one.) A nice black skirt and black top go a long way. You can always dress clothes down with rougher shoes, which is what I do when I can be more casual.

Update:

-having a real hard time (i.e.: impossible) finding puff-sleeved blouses and now I'm obsessed. I got a sewing machine and a pattern and fabric so wish me luck! :ninja: Now it's a matter of finding the time, but I don't have time to go shopping either so this may turn out to be a better solution.

-Betinapple: tried on the Prada sunnies again and unfortunately they weren't for me...too bad, they are super cute. I've been thinking maybe it's more important to spend the same money on a nice dress, though, since I've been needing one for so long. Will see, depends on what I find...or can make!:P

Speaking of dressier occasions; I just had a new cousin the day before yesterday. I guess I will be attending her christening sometime in the summer, but since my style has changed a lot during the last year and I haven't been to a christining since I was 15, I have no clue as of what to wear. What would you wear for an occasion like that?

@Melisande:
shame, but I am sure you will find something else! I used to only spend bigger amounts on accesories like shoes and bags, and I still mainly put my money here and buy my clothes cheaper, but I think a good quality black dress with good detaling is definetly worth investing in. I am really happy with the one I got in January - it really saves me on those days where I am in no way able to be creative with my clothes.

Remember to show us your blouse when you are done!

Me: I won a gift certificate for shoes (insert smiley jumping with joy). I checked out the webshop and immediately noticed a pair of black snake print leather slip ons. I contemplated getting a pair (regular vans though) but decided against it since I thought I could find something less on trend, but these are really cool.

Betina: I would wear a knee length dress in a pastel color, if possible. Preferable a solid color, but a classic or subtle print would do the trick. Depending on how formal your family is, a pair of black dress pants with a cute top could also work. What do you have that you think might be appropriate?

I do not own any pastel-y dresses, and I do not think I would want to buy one either, since I don't really feel comfortable in them - that would only be if I were to find a pretty, dusty pink dress. It would be very aapropiate though!

My original thought was to pull one of my party dresses (most black, full skirted, although I have a pink one as well), but that would be too dressy, I think.

I think I can get away with almost whatever I like. A lot of women in my family wear pants to such occasions (dressier pants though), with a nice top. I was thinking about my leather pencil skirt, my new light blue shirt, pumps and my YSL mail clutch. But I am not so sure about the leather skirt for an occasion like that.

^ You're young, you can probably get away with it  What about your black dress with the pretty neckline? With the Stam, Prada sunnies, etc.?
