The General Male Model Discussion Thread

^ so true.

Anyway, another snorefest city casting wise.. Let's see what Hedi-KVA-Raf casting has to offer to us.

1st day of Paris castings already impressing me more than London and Milan combined. Which isn't so unusual for Women's season, but for a Men's it is.

Milan usually has the better casting for Menswear, but I am sure Paris will be great. As long as Clement is cast in most of the shows, I think it will be a very good week.

Paris is more diverse for sure but the shows lack, well, men.
Sexy, handsome men. Proper eye candy.

Any info on the agency of Raf's new muse, Luca Lemaire?

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the Louis Vuitton cast, having seasoned models for the opening and closing spot and pretty much being loyal to familiar faces all-around instead of sticking with the now-not-so-shocking formula of exclusives for the crucial spots. Kind of gave me the vibe Burberry used to have prior to this season...

I know he's from Belgium, I searched in most of the agencies there and nothing. I wonder if Raf himself discovered him like with Yannick.

I missed some faces there though, such as Max Rendell and Carlos Peters. Was Louis exclusive?

Luca's with Hakim Model Management, the same as Guerrino.

^Thanks dear. They need to get it together and make a site tho :ermm:

IMG NY's board is so random now, I thought they tried to be selective and high-end. what are they thinking?

so many new faces & old ones that im obessed with. a dream would be for tyson, ryan kennedy, jon k, simon nessman grace milan still

Just gimmie Jon K and Simon. I so miss Simon, but I guess he is at the point in his career where he has built enough to take a break. He is very much on the low these days, but I think Simon will always be 'wanted'. (Even though he hates modeling.)

there started to have quite few asian male models two years ago... safe to say it's completely over...

Now that the mens s/s 2014 season is over anyone have thoughts on this season? Favorite new faces? Any disappointments? Personal top walkers?

I wonder if Clement will also go back to IMG. He really wouldn't need to, because he is taking over the world at Wilhelmina. Taylor Fuchs should go back to IMG. He needs some career recessitation. He was probably my favorite male model circa FW08.

Clement isn't listed in the Wilhelmina board anymore.

Ughhhhh, I can't even go there this season. [Clearly just being melodramatic, I'm glad you brought it up ;) ]

So many of my favorite veteran guys were barely to be seen.

So many great newcomers only showed up at 2 or 3 shows. And the good newcomers from last year that I thought would shine didn't.

I feel like mens casting somehow went backwards in the diversity, while womens is moving forwards in a positive direction.

I also feel like a lot of mens brands are experimenting with their casting aesthetic, while I preferred their previous vision.

And the collections themselves were sub-par. I mustered up excitement for collections that now I look at and go "huh"?

Just blahhhhhh.

To end on a positive note, I did gain a few new favorites (despite seeing very little of them): Simon Paul, Benjamin Druon, Kristof Pituk, Hagen Harmjanz.

Can't wait to hear everyone else's thoughts.

It seems like careers for male models are getting shorter and shorter and there are so many newcomers every season.

Some of my favorite casts were Hermes, Corneliani, and Etro.

I was glad to see a lot of Ben Waters, Fielding Lewis, and Guerrino Santulliana.

As for new guys, I really like Laurie Harding, Martin Ohman and Simon Paul. I was hoping that Nick Heymann, Kristof Pituk and Vic Van Der Well would be everywhere. I want to see Reuben Ramacher on other runways as well.

It's always been like that. So many exclusives that won't going anywhere next season. Givenchy boys.. CK.. Versace.. well at least sometimes Givenchy & Versace take some or one of the boys to be on their campaign.

The only worthy newcomer out of this season is Tim Schuhmacher. The top walker this season should be Kristoffer Hasslevall or Ben Allen.

Kristof should've never bothered walking in one single show and then gone right away.

My favourite casting were Ermenegildo Zegna, Rag & Bone & Valentino. Overall, serious yawn of casting but still with many desirable clothes.
