The General Male Model Discussion Thread

e french boys that hit big the past couple years to keep going like Arthur Gosse, Baptiste Radufe, Adrien Sahores but they've all been MIA recently. I feel sorry for male models.

Me too, but no one wants them anymore now that Gucci isn't there to keep them relevant. tragic.

It's crazy how nowadays we have so many male newcomers, even more than the female. It somehow makes it easier to see who actually has staying power. While I love guys like Clement, Adrien, Piero, Finnlay etc., I don't really see them as 'supermodel'. For me, guys like Gandy and Marlon could be labeled 'supers' because they are more known to public.

^ I think exposure to the public is an important factor indeed, but being a supermodel needs balance between recognition among pop culture and a very exclusive and extensive body of work... Marlon has pop culture support, but his book is not as big and relevant as David's yet. IMO guys from David's generation who have done almost everything and remain quite relevant are the only ones who can be called male supermodels... Clement is one of the next ones in the making, but the rest you mentioned are just way too new.

For me, especially HF Male Modeling is the most brutal.

Like all those newcomers - one year passes and they just fade away.

Girls have kind of more established career-paths.

I think there hasnt been a thread made for the Mens S/S '17 in Showlists

I saw a cast list for Lanvin, but it looks like there are unnamed models. Maybe theyre not official- does that happen often...

Tomorrow Is Another Day, the agency, and Hedi mostly these two are the reason why designers like to cast a large portion of the models from the street. Lanvin is one really passionate about people with that certain gesture. But I would say this fashion past its height after 2014.

Glad to know thanks :pink: Will take a look at their website the tiad

Does anyone know any details about Jonatan Frenk's passing? Was really sorry to hear that.

I have huge crisis seeing new models with 12 year old face and 6´1 height. Are these casting directors really making pedophilia a trend ?

sorry bur LCM just started and I really dont get all those unknown forgettable ugly faces… this trend has to stop!

That kind of casting is very typical in London, i hope it's not like that in Milan or Paris though, but i wouldn't doubt it again.

Even I like the collection this time but, can Gosha not just cast one black model in five seasons and be done with that? If you want to be loyal to your friends, how the heck so many Asians you've worked with yet still can't call them friends?

Ben Allen Tim Schuhmacher, Benjamin Eidem & Clement were at Prada! :buzz: I was glad to see that Miuccia hadn't ditched them completely.

^ totally agree. What a nice surprise to see them return to the Prada runway.

Let's take 5 minutes to appreciate Taavi Mänd's great platinum makeover.

I thank the media for keeping me away from Hoyt Kogan walking for Moschino show this long. Overhearing people discussing it on the train was not expected though.

checked the first few show packages for London and its already disappointing. Just young average and boring faces...
