The General Male Model Discussion Thread

I agree. Pretty strange what happened with Simone Nobili or Sebastian Sauve.

I feel like there's nobody but newcomers left. And of those newcomers 90% look alike.
It would be great to see some more diversity and not actually the same faces all over and over from show to show.

Glad I'm not imagining it.

So many veterans missing, and even some of the newcomers from last year seem to have already lost their buzz already due to the mass influx of newbies this season.

It's going to be extremely hard for this new group debuting this season to break through. I agree, a lot of them have the exact same look.

I totally forgot Simon Nessman, I expected him to be at Armani but nothing...

Totally forgot about Simon & Sean. I would love to see them at least somewhere rather than some of those bland guys.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like I can't keep up with all the new faces now.. and I'm sure it will be harder to establish themselves..

Seems like everybody is (or at least my favorites are..) only doing a few shows, definitely less than last season. Maybe because there are more and more guys to choose from and the designers/casting directors don't really care about which models are popular/'in', they just chose the ones they like.. (best example Calvin Klein)..

Talk about some of the Prada boys, I can hardly tell some newcomers apart

Milan is too individual with all the exclusives, loads and loads of them. Not to add, the different aesthetic they want to represent on the show. I've yet to see one single model who's sweeping Milan.

I'm not to happy with the newbies so far though. So much more potential new models are poorly booked -_-

Wow I thought I was the only one. I'm the same, I cannot keep up with all the new faces this season. They are so similar like some of you mentioned in Prada, where usually they have such a great cast. Like you pointed out Heather, some of last seasons boys are not so present, as I'd expected.

I do miss a lot of my veteran favorites but I'm still glad that some like Arthur, Benjamin and Baptiste are everywhere.

Edit: Like Flashbang, I also think a lot of models with potential are not booked well & can easily be missed.

The only good thing I can make out of all of this is that men's fashion is thriving more than ever, and more models are needed. Also love seeing the rise of men's campaigns lately. I just hate that it seems that, like females, the models will become more disposable from season-to-season.

It will be interesting to see how Paris plays out.

seriously, it's like spring 2009 again. hundreds of clones attack. only few of them have interesting looks, others are just...
as the same fact at Armani, they didn't have solid casting in any other seasons, and now after the clones attack, I can't even stand A minute of the show.

Let's pray a little for a major comeback of models at S/S 2014's Dolce show.

Dolce is over for me. I think if they don't use models again a lot of people will lose their interest in the show just like this season.

I knew not a single model's name at Louis Vuitton, I feel Kim Jones is turning the house' model cast into that of Burberry :(.

Let's pray a little for a major comeback of models at S/S 2014's Dolce show.

D&G were one house where you could count on the veterans to walk. I really hope for a major comeback!

I think the Milan phenomenon of tons of newfaces continues in Paris.
There's barely anyone I recognize :(

^ I didn't actually expect anything great in terms of models in Paris, most of the shows there seem to have unconventional looking models one has never heard of, their looks go with their more artsy collections I guess (wait till the Lanvin show :ninja:) but I'm really sad about Milan. The shows there are more glamorous and sexy and with the IT boys and veterans but not this season.

You're right, but I expected to see at least some established models in Paris and not only one or two.
Let's hope it won't stay like this next season. :ninja:
