We don't have H&M over here,but I've been there once in Austria,and my friens and I stayed there for hours and left the shop with a huge smile

Did you go? I went and it was insane! I got there around 11 AM but there were already tons of people waiting in line. One of my friends was one of the first 150 people so she got a 20% off coupon, which she gave to me while she shared another coupon with her friend!

It was quite the experience! I can't wait till the hype dies down a bit and then I can start shopping there regularly without all the crowds. The crowds were definitely insane. You'd have to push your way through everything and everyone. I didn't even bother going to the change rooms. I just stood in front of a mirror trying things on (the smart thing to do!) and I lucked out with my pants and tops and just prayed that the sizes would fit! Thank goodness for the 30 day return policy Just plan ahead and wear a tank top or something that you can easily slip things over.

I can't imagine how much the store made today but I'm willing to bet that the average shopper spent a couple hundred dollars on their purchases. I bought two tops, two pairs of cropped pants, a bag, and two hoodies and a dress top for my boyfriend, for about $191 after the discount.

I realize the worst part was probably lining up to pay for your items. Towards the end, almost everybody was just waiting in line, and there were fewer people scouring the racks. And after two hours of shopping, when we walked out, there were still tons of people waiting in line outside!

Oh man that's madness. I contemplated going today but that looks frightening. Good thing they're mostly women, all the menswear will be there..

I didn't go to the Vancouver opening. However, there is a 15% off coupon in H&M's own magazine that came with Flare for September (I think it was Flare, it could have been Elle). It was near the back of the magazine, and it is good until the end of September.

The coupon also gets you on the mailing list for future quarterly issues.

Perhaps, but I was lining up on the OTHER side (you can't see anybody from that line), and that side was even longer.

I love the black bag I bought from H&M. I've gotten quite a few compliments already! I checked out the store briefly a few days ago and it's still quite a gong show! Sigh looks like it'll be a month or two (or when the downtown H&M opens) until I can shop there peacefully
