I saw a floral bustier/corset type top in Trend yesterday... something I was looking for all summer. Apparently, I wasn't the only one though, there was only one size left, and it was too big. Now I'm on a mission to actually get it. So instead I just picked up a cute knit beret and a striped three quarter length shirt.. simple, and chic looking.

I think I consider Topshop more fashion forward, not sure why, hence I'll spend more in there. I bought shoes there for £75 today, and no way would I spend that in H&M!

I don't necessarily consider Topshop much more "fashion forward" than any of the other similar shops. E.g Zara changes imo their clothes just as fast. As for quality, I definitely don't see Topshop having an advantage there. Actually, quite opposite, their prices versus their quality, the clothes come off as way overpriced.

yeah here in canada we dont have topshop but i think its all about preference.

I just meant 'fashion forward' in comparison to H&M, Zara is probably the best as far as having runway copies and being on trend goes....I shop there all the time, proabably because it's slightly cheaper than Topshop on most things? H&M I find as a more.....toned down version of runway trends? They seem to do a lot more 'wearable' versions as oppose to Zara.

oh and i think h&m's quality of clothing is very good in trend, although not so much divided so i would pay more for topshop than that!

I've bought those tights in store yesterday. I wanted the dark red ones and they're sold together with the orange ones. But I actually like the oranges ones too.

If you compare only H&M and Topshop, then I agree that Topshop is more "fashion forward". I guess, they gamble more with the trends whereas H&M is more safe. But I think it has to do with the fact that H&M is so big, it's too much of a financial risk for them to jump aboard every trend, especially if it's very short-termed. But like you said, Zara is even more "trendy" than Topshop and yet still a bit cheaper generally. That's what I dislike about Topshop.

About the black lace top, I am sort of confused. I saw one up close at the H&M store with 3/4 sleeves and it was in this sort of fabric:

I am confused cause in some H&M ads, it looks like there would be one that's more like this kind of lace (think of the detailed flower pattern at Prada

Does anyone know the black Polyester H&M Trend dress that looks like a skater dress? It's long sleeved I love it but don't love the material, then I saw it yesterday in a wool version! It's gorgeous. Does anyone own either of them?
