^ What about the IMG Singapore office???? Does news on that?

Does anyone have any experience with the staff at ICM in london..?

I'm looking for information, similiar to what ACID has posted some pages back about Storms personnel..

Thanks in advance

Well I looked for some local agencies (all the while going "as if there'd be any modelling agencies in Saskatoon!") in the phone book. To my surprise, there were three listed. The first one I called was the She modelling agency. Called them up and they set up an interview.

Now I don't know much about agencies, I have however, read up on almost all there is to know about what to avoid and how agencies work (when the model makes money; they make money, and that agencies advertised as schools are more than likely just trying to scam people). However, beyond moving to another city, this is my only chance for local modelling.

The director I spoke to said she liked my look and wanted me to join the agency. However, doing so would require taking a 12 week "modelling" crash course that costs $400. I was very hesistant and voiced my concern, and asked if I could skip these classes and just jump head first into modelling. She said she had previously tried this with another model and it didn't turn out so well because the girl went to jobs and didn't know what she was doing.

She showed me a book with all the models signed to the agency, as well as models who were advertised internationally and are now working overseas. She also mentioned some local billboards that apparently used local talent.

I can pay in monthly charges (would come up at around $100 for 4 months) and can definitely afford it, however;

a. that's money that could potentially go to my schooling.
b. might be a scam and I won't get a job afterwards.

However, if it is legit in whatever way,

a. I'll finally be one step closer to accomplishing what I've been trying to do for the last five years.
b. I'll be making my money back and then some, which could go towards my school as well as helping my mom with her bills.

I dunno ... I asked around about the other agencies, one doesn't look very legitimate, and the other apparently went out of business. The office at She was pretty ghetto though, a little room off to the side as soon as you enter, with really retro wallpaper and all cramped and stuff. I mean, if an agency is doing well, you'd think they'd be able to spruce the place up a bit.

On the other hand, they did have a studio and runway (I asked for a tour) in the building ... so ... I don't know what to do!

I love mode models and for anyone wanting to model in alberta, i reccommend them!!!

Hey guys! The best thing to do would be to E-mail or send pictures to one of the Agencies in Toronto. I work for NeXt so naturally I'd reccomend NeXt. If you'd rather a face to face meeting though, we do have scouts in the west coast, in vancouver and Calgary.

I wouldn't pay for a course. There's so much more to modelling than it seems, and the only way to really learn is through being with a strong management company. They'll help you make the decisions that are best for you career, and guide you through the development proccess.

Any small agencies in cities that don't have strong local markets are usually just charm school that occasionally boast mother agencies to a random girl.

Which are the best agencies in New York, Paris and London? Has anyone of the model members worked there? Or is there any useful list of model agencies except the one at models.com and vogue.com?
Thanks guys :flower:

It depends. Some open already around January the 3rd while others open some days later. Hope this helps :flower: Will you go there?

In New York, the best are IMG, DNA, and Women/Supreme (Supreme is the new faces division)
Elite and Marilyn has been pushing some good girls, but they dont seem to have the power of churning out the models as quickly as these other agencies do, but nonetheless, they are still very good agencies.

thanks a lot and karma, jakeee :flower:
If you're wondering about what type of boards they have in Paris, most of the models from DNA and 1 Management are at Viva in Paris, Fprd Models at Ford paris, marilyn, and IMG the same...City Models seems to have the general mix of models from different agencies.
