And it works exactly the same way with the agencies in big markets. Most of them, or should I rather say all, sign exclusive contracts with their models, only. That means that the models can't be with other agencies at the same time. But, if the agency believes that a certain model needs to go somewhere, say Tokyo or Milan, before she can really start off and they don't have a brunch in that town, they will find her a different agency there that wants to take her on with a short time contract. Once again, they get their commission and the agency away gets their's also.
Basicly, that means that a girl can have different mother agencies in different places during her modeling career, just not at the same time.
To put it even shorter a "mother agency" is a business term, non-affected by any matters, such as who inputs more in a girl's career or who first opened her.
Well, that's the way I see it... If anyone from the industry has something to correct me at, please, do so.
