The pale and dead look.

i am loving her make up! This is Natasha Poly, and its from her thread. I love this so so much! I wish i could make my eyes like that, and it would suit me!

I don't know if I am pale but I definitley have very very white skin.... it's from the Russian side in me I think..
I used to hate it because it takes me ages to tan.... (it's as if my skin actually refuses to tan)... but I just recently decided to embrace it,
since I don't really have a choice anyway :innocent:... and I'm starting to like it very much.

I still don't know about the dark circles though... I really can look very sick.:(

People don't deliberately have dark circles though. I've had them since I was a kid and they've become worse and worse - I don't think anybody enjoys having those circles.

i think they are sexy. i tried to get them when i was a teenager, but no dark circles showed up under my eyes even after two nights of no sleep and too much wine. now i am older i can finally look really f*cked up, when looking f*cked up is not cool anymore. yay.

i love the pale look. on glossy pictures etc. it's the greatest look to be seen in my opinion, but in daily life you are just the first to blush. (i hate the constant blushing.)

I'm also a bigger fan of 'pale and alive', but anything beats tanned to a leathery crisp.

That's the one possible downside, I've found: the giddy pinkness. I drink a glass of wine, I'm bright red. I'm anxious, I'm bright red. I'm fibbing, I'm bright red. I'm aroused, I'm bright red. I'm embarrassed, I'm bright red. I'm amused, angry, ashamed...tickled pink. It's like you can't hide. So I don't even try anymore. So I'm blushing, I'm capable of it, there's some hot kernel of corruptibility and shame in me, yet. Or so it appears. Work it, girl!

Some of my most memorable times are had while slightly drunk, anxious, fibbing, aroused, embarrassed, amused, angry, ashamed, and tickled. You don't have to admit to any specific emotion behind the blush. It gets that you see how similar they all are, physiologically speaking. If I'd practice, I'm sure I could turn in on at will, but I don't think I could ever shut it off. That's a good thing.

That blushing thing is soooo cute, i've never blushed in my life! Curse you sallow skin, curse you!!!!

I think it began around age nine for me, with Kristen McMenamy ^ I found a Kevyn Aucoin makeup handbook at the library, and her portrait stopped me dead in my tracks. (I swear she even looked paler than in the photo above...) I found her look immediately captivating, for reasons I'll never know and will probably spend the rest of my life trying to understand...

i had a primary school teacher who used to look eexactly like Kirsten (:crush:) too much..
this pic embodies my all time fave look, this is how i go around myself, plus heeavy dark eyebrows which i need to get some balance for my everyday life

love the pale & alive look, eg with either strong eyes or blush cheeks.
and yes, i've noticed that there IS a growing niche pale&fresh trend over here, obviously a backlash to the solarium babies and kens out there.

imo, Pale is cool, but too gostly (panda/corpse eyes) can ruin the fun

I like to stand out with my natural pale complexion in this tanned mania we have here.. ^_^ But dead is too much.. :p

i have no choice about my dead look! I was born with heavy bags, i have seen in baby pics, but as I have trouble like sleeping and stuff, I have really dark rings around my eyes and they are sometimes a purply-red colour.

Pale and alive look is a lot nicer, but the deadness I try to do my best with, as I have no other option.

great looks posted above, i prefer the last pic from your second post libertine , thanks :flower:

I was wondering how I could achieve this look. I have Mediterranean-esque skin, naturally "tanned". I also have naturally clear skin and so I've never used foundation or concealer. What kind of things should I do/use? I'll take this to the makeup thread as well but any pointers?

I don't mind other's exessive tanning but I hate to hear "OMG! EW! I'M SO FRIKKIN' PALE! I LOOK GROSS & SICK!"

Some of us happen to like looking natural.

hehe my cousin tell me to go get lil bit tan, i told her it will nvr happen becuz i only get liver spot and burn!!! XD eventually ma mom hav eto back me up, which is funny.
and since i have rosy cheeks, being pale is nvr a huge prob for me:)

vampiric paleness is extremely hot

i would say 99% of asian girls look better pale, and 90% of caucasians look better pale.

i thought this look was hot for awhile, but now im kind of over it

I love this look! I have been embracing my naturally pale skin for a fair few years now :) Does anyone know any good matte natural colour lipsticks? My lips stand out a hell of a lot in comparison to my skin and all the lipsticks i seem to find are glossy (and mainly sparkly, yuck, what is with that?!)

Tip for people with dark circles: I swear by concealer. I use Boots No 7 instant radiance concealer pen (cheap version on touche eclait). Ive got the lightest one and it's practically the same colour as my skin :) I dont wear foundation or anything, just put concealer around my eyes and a bit of vaseline on my lids, natural makeup is definitely the best!!
