Highland r*pe
Where can I find pictures of that collection? I've only seen like, three looks, but it's one of his best known.

They used to have pictures on his website but it's being re-furbished :( I think there's a piece from it in Fashion Now by i-D...I'll see if I can scan it in...I have no clue where you could find the complete collection

:flower: I know, I wish firstView had collections from further back then 95, thanx though

Balenciaga, Fall 2001 It was dark and tailored and just brilliant. And the ad campaign with Christy Turlington...loved it!!

Callaghan, Spring 2001 Ghesquiere summed up the whole Grecian theme going on at the time beautifully. I wish he had stayed with the house, or kept doing it on the side.

Gucci, Fall 2001 and Fall 2002 The Gucci girl goes 60s style mod then 80s style punk. The shoes!!! I got the pink ballet heels and the leather wrap around pumps for both collections.

Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs, Spring 2001 Both collections were colorful, fun and fresh. This is was the first Marc by Marc show.

When I first started reading this site, it made my head spin how much people talked about Murakami, until I realized you weren't talking about the author who wrote Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World, but instead you were talking about a handbag designer!
he's not a handbag designer :flower:
he's an artist who collaborated with marc jacobs (the handbag designer! ;D) for those godawful lv bags.

It´s hard to tell a favourite, I could possibly name even some more that had a strong impact on me, but here are some that spontaneously came to my mind:

HELMUT LANG, F/W 2003 (women)

I always liked the idea of a cold sexiness for women, where it´s not about revealing skin but about an energetic silhouette. The skintight silhouette was strong and confident, very focussed colour palette, extremely interesting footwear (Matrix-esque patent leather buckled wedge boots!) and subtle military referencing (oxygen plug-ins from aviation as keychains, laced up overpants).

DIOR HOMME, F/W 2003

Very elegant and edgy, completely against what the majority´s idea of masculinity - I think this was Hedi´s most provocative show since YSL, loved the mix of lurex, tweeds and rubber-coated canvases, the cheap with the precious, the rough with the sleek... Too bad I couldn´t afford any of the "strong" items (long black military coat from Look 1). I loved it when everybody hated my skinny clear silikon-coated jeans.

ROCHAS, S/S 2004

The first looks explained it all, the mix of silver lamé and Chantilly lace, layering them to eventually create a new "fabric" with a dark sophistication, that was pure genius. Once again a very focussed colour palette that easily brought out the message - a dark, melancholic sweetness - from the proportion to the footwear to the fabrics, everything just seemed so right to me. A masterpiece.

YOHJI YAMAMOTO, S/S 1999 (women)

I came across this one when I noticed this fabulous strapless gown exposed in the Kyoto costume department, I thought it was already the climax until I saw this gorgeous short sleeved pinstripe jacket with the dramatic volume in the back... so divine... Everytime I see it, I secretly hope I´ll somehow meet the woman that is actually wearing these clothes. This would be the perfect collection if they didn´t show André Leon Talley as a model....ughhhh...

BALENCIAGA, S/S 2005

Probably not the most avant garde collection but most convincing in my opinion. The jackets are strict but easy at the same time, especially worn with those wide legged sailor pants, my favourites are - besides that fabulous bustier dress from Look 1 - the light coats though, especially the one on Ann Catherine looks stunning - totally wearable and effortless, besides that gorgeous fabric - what is it actually?!

VIKTOR & ROLF, F/W 2001

The Black Hole, probably one of their most conceptual collections so far. This is without doubt one of those collections you can hardly forget because it was so strong in it´s image and inspiration. I loved it all, but if I had to pick some specific pieces, definitely the black leather tux shirt and the skirt suit shown on Shalom Harlow (there´s a photo of her and both Viktor & Rolf in A magazine, dunno wear it originally came from).

I guess it's really hard to just pick five so I cheated a bit and tied a few...which really isn't cheating because, well, I really do love them all, it's like trying to decide between children.

5. Olivier Theyskens for Rochas A/H 2003

I'd kill for a debut this remarkable.

5. Marc Jacobs A/H 2003 / Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton A/H 2003

His teams got on that mod slant and really did some remarkable, exciting things with bibs, bobs, and buttons.

4. Tom Ford for YSL Rive Gauche P/E 2003

This collection was so unusual in so many ways and really resulted in some really beautiful pieces.

4. Stefano Pilati for YSL Rive Gauche A/H 2005

The collection I loved to hate and hated to love. Each time I watch, it grows on me a little more.

Really put him on the map and become tinted with nostalgia as the last fashion presentation show on the night of September 10, 2001.

1. Alexander Mcqueen A/H 2002

OMG, how could I forget about that "Shipwrecked" collection of Alexander´s? I LOVE the first black outfit you posted... and this "shredded" full length cream ballgown... and... honestly, almost everything out of it. I personally like McQueen tons better than Galliano...!
