US Vogue February 2021 : Kamala Harris by Tyler Mitchell

How about printing a limited number of quality content for a change, seeing as there's none of that going on right now? Sick and tired of this crap.

The issue is of course pitiful, 108 pages!. What will March look like?
The Local News will divide magazine lovers from the fashion consumers when it could've appealed to both. If you're a magazine lover you'll hate it just for the sheer lack of production value (none!) that went into creating it. Maybe if they had at least a few fashion photographers shoot a few models wearing the brands it would have looked better? I know it's not an easy task, but it's doable with the right planning.
But if you're a fashion consumer (in America) it may well speak to you because it's interesting to see a bunch of brands scattered across America that you wouldn't normally see in Vogue and that you probably never heard of.

This focus on local brands is a current movement sweeping in fashion, furniture and food, and it started last summer due to the pandemic. If you work in any of these industries, you'll know about it. From that angle, I can't hate on it too much.
Because at the end of the day 33 brands (less Jeremy Scott, Tracy Reese and Rodarte) got to have their prime moment in the magazine when they probably would never have. I like the idea of Vogue playing Peter Pan. Taking advertising dollars from the conglomerates but spotlighting indie brands instead.

Only next time, put some effort into it! Actually, I'm now keen to see a similar effort in UK Vogue.

Anna what are you doing! Why is she doing this? Her prime is way past her years.

I won´t be saving one single image, not even Sasha´s pics... who even pays money for this?!

Wow, then you must really hate it, lol!

I can defend the main fashion edit, but I simply cannot defend Sasha's one. There was no excuse for such a lazy, contrived lockdown shoot. Especially considering they had a hair and makeup artist actually style both Sasha and Jordan. So it was not about 'safety.' Why the awful looking shoot then?!?

Jorden Bickham has brought this brand of undone, frumpy mum look to Vogue ever since her first edit. She must be well-connected to have secured such a plum job with that level of styling talent.

The print cover is kind of a mess, but it has personality and meaning, with authentic styling and a nod to Kamala’s background. It was unconventional, it got people talking and attracted loads of press coverage for the issue. Ironically, despite all the whining from twitter idiots, I’d say decision to use that photo instead of the more conventional (read: boring and ugly) portrait in the blue suit for the newsstand is the only successful/interesting thing about the issue. And now they’ve reneged on that. Oy vey. Everything else is crap and I think I spent more time looking over the foldout Dior ad at the front of the issue than I did everything else combined.

It’s not Anna’s fault, unfortunately, it’s all the complaints, the politically correct, diversity, readers of US Vogue don’t care if there are black photographers like Tyler Mitchell, black stylists (terrible), don’t care to see amateur photographs, Vogue readers want dreams, glamour, models, clothes, and Vogue has always talked about important issues such as politics, current events alternating with fashion. If this inclusiveness means having black photographers and stylists, give me back Craig McDean, Steven Klein, David Sims, Patrick Demarchelier, Tonne Goodman, etc. because this magazine has become garbage!!! For sure this cover will be sold out in a few days, hoping for better days
