US Vogue January 2022 : Olivia Wilde by Annie Leibovitz

British Vogue is really benefitting from releasing earlier than most of the other editions. Anytime they are one of the editions sharing global content (like this editorial), people associate it with BV first and then every other edition publishing the same content is seen as “reprinting” British Vogue’s content even though that’s not actually the case.

^It is even styled by British Vogue fashion director. So it is what it is. It is still same content published in more than one edition, no matter how much you will be advocating it.

What I'm advocating for is that people rethink their "ugh! a reprint!" reactions every time they see Vogue Spain, US, Germany, etc. release content that British Vogue released a week or two prior. Because it's not just that those editions were lazy and decided to borrow an ed from British Vogue, it's that part of the new strategy is to create editorials that are always intended to be shared. Sure Poppy styled it, she also recently styled a Vogue Italia cover. Global. British Vogue also shared an editorial recently styled by Gabrielle and shot by Annie - not exactly the home team. No one has to like the fact they're sharing content but I don't think it's fair to all the other editions to attribute content meant to be shared as belonging to the edition that happens to release soonest, and then dismissing every other edition as having reprinted it.

What I found funny is always the US-UK editorials teams that are being forced into other countries but you never see any countries appear in the pages of these two Vogues.

With the current sad qualities of the US-UK Vogue, they should be the one reprint stories from Taiwan, China, and Korea teams. At least they still have standards.

Yes. And the Global Fashion Lead is Virginia Smith, even the clothes selected to British Vogue is selected by her.

Im obsessed with vogue korea, actually im saving some money to buy older issues

I love the editorial, the cover is better than many recent covers but I dont like the composition or text placement. Am surprised that people are shocked about her being on Vogue, am actually surprised that she has never been on considering she was one of the fashion industry favourite A listers in the 2010s, she has been on countless covers and it seemed absurd that she wasnt on Vogue. Anna may want to capitalize on the relationship but if she was just any other random actress or model she wouldnt be directing her own Vogue cover shoot. Ironically i didnt even know that they were dating

Any review pls?

As KoV said, 92 pages. Not sure what's new or reprinted so I'll just list everything.

"World to the Wise"
Photographer: Eddie Wrey
Stylist: Poppy Kain
Models: Imaan Hammam, He Cong

"Just One Thing"
Photographer: Sean Thomas
Stylist: Tabitha Simmons
Emily Ratajkowski

Plus: Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, garden feature about Ireland's Lismore Castle, climate activist Xiye Bastida, Kodi Smit-McPhee, a Lena Dunham essay, and six pages of a mock editorial by Velveeta

I’m secretly living for the Velveeta editorial.

It might be 'original content', but what a treat for print readers to pay money to see Insta-level shots of Emily Ratajkowski when they could go on social media and see thousands of better images for free.

Yeah they are dumb dumb...now, more than ever, they need to push the brand more, as you said Emily has better photographs on this level...i know it's tricky bc with technology is very easy to do this casual photography but even on their dumbness they need to step it up in quality...

Even with 21 pages of ads I think they are more valuable that the 100 pages of British Vogue

I’m shocked to read its 92 pages. British Vogue is 250ish for January.

I realise January is normally a lean issue, but I do hope that we see an increase in the size of the issues.
