The mood for fall is a little darker and a little stranger

Fashion goes East this season but it's not what you'd expect. Fall's most on-target clothes took a cue from the ethnic dress of Central Asia and stylist Panos Yiapanis pulled together some of the most lucid responses we've seen. The next issue sees Polish supermodel Malgosia in Yiapanis's Eastern-inspired looks, donning a Fez hat here or an Ikat-print something over there. One thing's for sure—whether it's Turkey or Georgia or Azerbaijan—there's some unchartered territory being covered. Keep that fashion dictionary handy.

I JUST remebered. This will probably be the issue that Irina L. styles the models. Heres some info :

CALLING THE SHOTS: Model Irina Lazareanu tried her hand as a stylist — and (for a few shots) as a photographer — for an upcoming issue of V. She gathered a bevy of cohorts, including Daria Werbowy, Gemma Ward and Lily Cole, and nine of them posed together for a spread in the magazine. "Maybe I'll do a project with different generations of models," mused Lazareanu, who added Nicolas Ghesquière and Karl Lagerfeld were particularly supportive of the V venture. So how did Lazareanu feel being on "the other side" of a fashion shoot? "It was very freaky, especially the styling," she said. "I had to make sure the girls got ready, got dressed. And I'm just a friend. It really was a challenge. It took 10 years off of my life."
