Valentino S/S 11 Paris

It looks nice and elegant but it is a summer time. Why are their collections and show area always so dark.

It was OKAY. Some of the pieces i quite enjoyed, but I agree with all who say its really just more of the same.

I actually like the collection, though not for me, it is very pretty, the long dresses remind me of Aquilano Raimondi. But those bows/ribbons have to go, and they need to amp this up - it is Valentino after all.

I saw some images on getty and it basically looks like a continuation of the Fall collection. Stupid.
That's exactly what I thought. It's too similar to the Fall collection. Even the sleeve lengths of some of these looks are similar to the sleeve lengths of the Fall collection's looks.

It's pretty, but i miss Valentino's spirit! Valentino come back!

What's with the experimentation? Valentino already had a signature and now Chiuri and Piccioli are just messing with it. I understand that designers need to find their own signature but for a legendary label like Valentino? I hate the Alexa Chung screaming looks and I'm not the biggest fan of the long sleeve red dress (3rd last) with the Versace split.
A pretty collection, not a Valentino collection.

boring...

i prefer that random, weird, "shocking" collections to these boring ones. at least that was remotely interesting (even if terribly bad).

It's not that I don't like the collections after Mr. Valentino's departure, cause they're indeed very cute and pretty, but if I was Valentino himself I would literally sit home and cry my eyes out.
I think that it is SO sad to see how little of Valentino I actually see in these collections. Yes, the cute details are there, but Valentino had a way of making these details look sexy - just take a look at this last collection (spring 2008 couture). Those dresses were out of this world!

And what is up with those fake red dresses? Either you do Valentino red or you don't do anything!

Um, there are 2 bad blurry photos. How is anyone already deciding? Can we see the full collection?

I liked the clean feel of some of the dresses, but in terms of the frills and details, for me, there was no sense of them knowing what to do with the proportion of them in order to produce something great.

It looks like the rejects from last season's collection. This collection lacks luxury and that Valentino lustre.

Very beautiful collection. It was clean and modern, and the polka-dots were done in a way that was not kitschy (which they could have easily been). However, this was lacking in life a little bit. It was not necessarily boring, but it did not excite me in the way their past two collections have.

Last season they had the edge of a tougher woman, even if it was only through the leather and the studded shoes.

Also, is it just me, or does the finish on the pieces look a lot more luxurious? It looks much more thought out than in previous seasons. Perhaps they are slowly learning to apply couture finishes to their ready-to-wear?

Dreadfull. I just can't be bothered with these two anymore.

They have had enough chances to prove they are worthy of taking over Valentino and they haven't.

Goodbye.
