Valentino S/S 11 Paris

The 'dark romance' identity that the new Valentino identity pushes is fine but much of the recent ready to wear collections are beginning to look too repetitive. Nudes, beiges, blacks with pinks and reds and a faint accent color (browns/slate grey/etc).

Overall, there were some beautiful evening looks, but the studs look like a last minute thought- not 'Valentino studs' but 'studs that happen to show up on this Valentino collection'.....

For once I wasn't left literally despising a New Valentino collection.
I could see Valentino Garavani in this.
Yes, there was a lot of the same happening, deja vuin the collection, deja vu from other collections, but there were some cute details, like ribbons on cuffs and the black and white spot print. Plus, the finale red dress was quite welcome but pleasantly surprising after a lot of blacks and nudes.
I wish they would bin the sort of messy, netty crap they keep ruining clothes with, such as a nude skirt with a sheer black overlay ruined with the mess stuck onto the top.
