Dior Homme S/S 11 Paris

I don't know what's up designers this season and this trend toward black clothes and leather. I don't know about you guys, but I live in a hot and muggy city. Black clothes and leather next spring & summer ain't gonna cut it here.

And in Brasil?:rolleyes::rofl:

But i understand, the Spring at Europe is different.

I like the final jacket-cape, it's a great concept to have some unworked fabric and tailored as the same tiem.

Otherwise, it's really flat... and too early DH...but not in a strong way

Spring Summer in Europe is very different to somewhere like brazil, were at the end of june and were only JUST seeing hot weather, anyway, enough of my weather forecast....

it's rather dull, wearable, but dull, i don't like his design aesthetic to be honest
i like the grey pieces, which, colorwise is more acceptable for spring summer, than BLACK, but that said he has used very light materials that are easier to wear in summer, rather than a heavy wool or something like that
i much prefer this to the last collection he did

Soooooo boring. And I'm so over sleeve-less shirts as well. My arms are twigs, so it ain't a good look.

i like this. although a tad predictable. it was no McQueen...

the alternative crowd wants black, KVA gives them black, the alternative crowd keeps on complaining

where's KVA's street cred went that he had earlier in his career is beyond me. he used to have a few street elements, hi-tops, sexy slightly baggy fit pants, tops that showed off the body...

i was hoping for the Dior Homme man to evolve from the scene rock kid Hedi catered to, but i keep on getting disappointed.

i like the V-neck top, but if i remember correctly, Byblos had that last year or 2 years ago. Byblos for crying out loud!

i think this is his best efforts at dior homme. he's finally sticking to a certain image (remember the gold sequin pants with those colorful jackets and then the collection with the graphic tees). there's some reminiscence of past dior homme and this collection seems very elegant yet young and casual.

How many times is he gonna do the same thing. His collection was better than this. Everything he does is starting to look the same to me, its sad.

Clearly someone was visiting the archives. Those looks with the drapey, kimono-esque tops and the low waisted pants are very Dior Homme circa 2002. That was one of the only DH collections I've ever liked, so seeing such a half-hearted reworking of that look isn't doing much for me.

I don't understand all these people whining about the all black for spring summer thing. Do you all honestly think that every man just stops wearing black when spring rolls around?

i completely agree. also, i love the volume idea for men. we saw it start last year with pilati at ysl, but it's caught on at quite a few houses this season. however, i can't help but miss the skinny, severe dior homme when he presents something this fluid.

no

i never even start

there's a shocking lack of black in my closet

I think I have too much black in my wardrobe. I don't know if I would look allright in too much colour either.

but

season after season of black, boring clothes, you start to look for something new and colourful.

^yeah you are very right in what you said
In my wardrobe there is 80% Black or grey and the other 20% is navy, blue and white
i think if he had of done something alittle less boring, with abit more detailing

Another disappointing offering from KVA for Dior Homme. Blacks and grays and whites again?

^ Weren't those the main colors that Slimane used season after season as well during his tenure?

I mean can anyone really say that the Dior Homme name is associated with color?
